It looks like Google will suck up to anyone for a few bucks. China will censor sites and collect data much more efficiently with Google’s help.

This “right to be forgotten” law in the EU has the potential to be very dangerous, too. I don’t mind if someone can request that some minor peccadillos be removed, but this has the scent of legalizing cover ups by those in power by mandating that third parties remove “offending” material.

That's exactly what it is. Sad to say, but Europe is lost. There are a few individual countries trying to stand up against the push to self-immolation (Poland stands out), but they are already well down the track to destruction from within.
