the voters will now replace Kyl with 2020 primary & Nov Special election unless he leaves earlier than Nov 2020
Kyl committed himself till the end of the year. He may or may not be convinced to stay until 2021 when the next elected senator takes over. I think he wanted to see how the midterms turned out and evaluate the time commitment with his family. coming out of retirement isn’t easy when plans are made with others.
