actually the girl in clueless was just 15 and a fictional character. we make allowances for inexperience of age and expect are entertainment in movies to behave in ways that amuse us. Ocasio-Cortez’s is twice her age. A 30 years old who is a real person. There is nothing amusing about her being a politician and representing anyone.
Boo hoo. In a few months you’ll be filling your gizzard at the public trough. You’ll have better health insurance than me. You’ll have guaranteed pay and pension, with COLAs, that I don’t have.

This sort of thing is not uncommon, and it happens on both sides of the aisle. On the Democrat side, a spouse with serious educational and professional chops will be snapped up by a lobbying firm or a prestigious NGO. The spouse might even do serious work for this employer, and some of the spouses are pretty good. But that's not why they got the job.
Occasional-Cortex is mostly likely to advance her career by using the Duke Cunningham business plan.

Yep, I noticed the reference to her “partner” in this article and from what I’ve read up to now it’s never been mentioned she is married.
I guess I’m old fashioned but I’ve never considered a partner as being a husband or wife, of course I don’t care for the feminists either. :^)

Her wardrobe was probably paid for out of campaign funds. I do not think that she can borrow against campaign funds for personal items.
Legally, I doubt that she can accept gratuities. Wait till she learns how far $174,000 doesn’t go in DC. But she will have some unique business opportunities not available to her constituents.
