Weren’t her clothes, they were provided by the magazine.

So she wasn’t guilty of buying expensive clothes, she was guilty of dressing up in expensive clothes, like play-acting, to do a photo shoot that portrayed her differently than her real life.

She can’t sleep in her office until she has an office, which se will not have until January 3rd.

But they WANT her in DC now, for training, for indoctrination, for whatever else. So she is in a situation where she needs a place to stay in DC, for her employment, but her employer is not paying for it, or paying her a salary.

I think it would be pretty reasonable for the congress to offer a daily stipend for the days they require newly elected officials to be training for the job. It would pay for hotel and food each day.

Yes, it seems silly that a person with money in the bank would actually make a big deal out of this, but it’s not an unreasonable thing.

We technically should be able to elect anybody to office, even people with no money, and they should be given the means to travel and stay in Washington once they are certified the winner, since they have to be there before the term starts.

That's exactly the point. She wants everybody else to pay for all of her stuff. A true communist.

To the far left, having money or growing up with money is a no-no. Bernie Sanders never gives up a chance to exclaim how he grew up poor. Ocasio-Cortez follows in his Marxist footsteps.

Which means of course his family probably had money. He claimed in 1980 his dad was....wait for it.... a painter! I believe that as much as I believe Bernie once was a carpenter. Bernie admits he never had a job until he was elected mayor of Burlington, Vermont in 1981 when he was 38. Now if you are as smart as Bernie is, and you grew up poverty stricken, wouldn’t you want to extend just a little effort to get yourself out of poverty? But no. Bernie was more interested in becoming a feverish Marxist swamp dweller sans a job. Someone was supporting him besides the state of Vermont, which supported him some.

Just as Ocasio-Cortez, the self described poor “Bronx girl” actually is from upper middle class Westchester county. Her dad is an architect.

Bernie dreads his opponents “getting personal” in his campaigns. The best way for Ocasio-Cortez’ and Sander’s opponents to campaign against them is to constantly remind voters of their attempts to deceive. And the deception is very personal.

With probably the best health and retirement benefits in the country plus all of that "side" action. I would assume most politicians are multimillionaires when they get out of politics. I don't think this what the Founders intended. Get a job at Amazon b*tch!

All Occasional-Cortex has to do is go to Amscott for a payday loan.

Or call J G Wentworth 877 cash now.

Then there was the House Bank.

or she could go on the imran awan plan: borrow out on a few rental properties from congressional FCU.

She has about $25,000 ?

For her, that’s a pair of shoes.

Seriously.

She needs to be in DC now to start putting together a staff, unless she thinks she can just round up a crowd at Starbucks.

Yes. But she will still have an apartment in her district, so now she needs to pay for two locations; and while she probably has enough money to do that, there is no requirement to have money for travel and lodging and daily expenses, even though the job clearly needs you to be in DC, before you actually start getting paid.

So you have a job, it requires you relocate and start “doing the job”, like training and hiring, but you have no money to do so until January 3rd. They should probably fix that. You should in fact be able to pay staff people maybe a month before you become sworn in, because you need to be able to work from day one.

I don’t think that would be unreasonable, to provide a per diem and a staff allocation starting December 1st, for new members.

As many as her girlfriend “partner” can afford ...

I do have a home in DC . . .

It’s the House of Representatives, yo!

. . . which puts me in mind of the fact that there are representatives who bunk in their offices to save money. I had forgotten that, and in this context it matters!

All this is beside the point that anyone with the the kind of salary she’s guaranteed for the next two years can simply go to the bank and borrow the money she needs for an apartment. But of course she studied Economics in college, so she wouldn’t know that . . .

</sarcasm>

She’ll find a sugar daddy. That’s her plan, I’m sure, but he’ll be invisible. We’ll never who he is, just as we don’t know the invisible voters in Broward County. Being a democrat, she’ll get by with her invisible sugar daddy.
