This is what I call representing the red-blooded patriotic American. Plain-speak, direct truth; what every middle-American would say to in the same or similar circumstance. And ironically, this is also (almost verbatim) one of the reasons Donald Trump earned my support in 2015:

The blood of Americans, provided the current freedom of France. Period.

I took a couple years of German in College. There is a lot of French in the German language as well.

So Trump called on them to make their fair NATO contributions and their reaction is to abandon NATO and prepare to fight us? And Trump supposedly didn’t support NATO? These people are kooks.
Macron’s answer was I wish we had learned German. Then we wouldn’t have had to surrender to them now. Kissing German posteriors is what we French do best.
