IIRC, the NK’s still have missile bases operating. They are defensive positions, more towards the interior and they are not Nuclear.

Every country has these and they would be fools not to.

NK is dismantling the Nuclear test facilities they promised to dismantle. They are dismantling offensive bases along the border with SK.

Everything is going along pretty close to the terms of the agreement.

This much reminds me of the “Great Missile Gap” during the 1960 election of JFK against Nixon. It was well reported by the New York Times.

JFK alleged during the campaign that under the Eisenhower administration and his vice president Nixon we were far behind the Soviets in strategic missile weapons. This was an absolute lie but most well repeated in the NY Times as fact. In fact in 1960 we had absolute superiority in missiles, aircraft and tactical nuclear war heads.

This was a major factor in Nixon’s loss to JFK in the legal vote. In actuality the election was stolen in Chicago by the Daley machine.

Odd is it not a democrat winning an election based on accusations of a Republican administration not taking care of national defense?

ps
President Eisenhower was the Supreme Commander in WWII in Europe. His orders sent many men to their death. He abhorred war but knew the necessity of war against evil. After the war as president he rebuilt Europe and made our military supreme. He did this to prevent war. His actions have prevented a world war for over 73 years.

On the day of D Day at Normandy he had done all he could in planning. On that day when there was nothing more that he could do he went out to the troops that were about to parachute or land on Normandy and give them spirit. He had done all he could as commander and all he could do then was give his troops spirit and bravery.

He is probably the most underestimated president ever. Yes the world is always in turmoil of regional wars. Due to Eisenhower’s wisdom we have not had a world war. His legacy is that of peace.
