Graham backs bill to protect Mueller
The Hill ^ | 11/13/18 | Chris Mills Rodrigo

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) on Tuesday said that he would support a bill to protect special counsel Robert Mueller.

“I would certainly vote for it,” he told reporters, according to Reuters.

“I don’t see any movement to get rid of Mueller. But it probably would be good to have this legislation in place just for the future.”

Graham co-sponsored a bill to protect the Mueller investigation in April 2018 that would codify Department of Justice regulations that say only a senior official can fire Mueller or another special counsel.

The special counsel is examining ties between President Trump's campaign and Russia during the 2016 election.

Democrats and some Republicans have raised concerns that the ouster of Attorney General Jeff Sessions threatens the investigation.

Trump replaced him with Matthew Whitaker as acting attorney general, who has criticized the probe in the past.

Democratic leaders, including Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), have called for Whitaker to recuse himself from the investigation.

"Given his record of threats to undermine & weaken the Russia investigation, Matthew Whitaker should recuse himself from any involvement in Mueller’s investigation," she tweeted. "Congress must take immediate action to protect the rule of law and integrity of the investigation."

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) said Friday that legislation protecting Mueller was not needed because he doesn't believe President Trump will fire the special counsel.

only a third of the GOP side of the Senate would have to be turned for an impeachment conviction from them.

That’s what’s coming. Just watch.

The GOP got their tax cut thru, they don’t need Trump around anymore.

Whitaker is designated hatchet man. It’s his job to do dirty work of cleaning house. Mueller is not problem, those who created him is the problem. Passing a bill just buys time for housecleaning and will have no effect on outcomes

Why assume Mueller witch hunt is a bad thing?

Trump is innocent, so - it’s a distraction, and a welcome distraction at that.

Being innocent doesn’t mean you can’t be ruled guilty or boxed into a guilty plea. There are lots of people that are convicted every day that shouldn’t be.

He is damaging and destroying the lives of American citizens. They, due process, and rule of law, matter - even if not to you.

And... first Mueller came for someone I did not care about...

That was pretty much my thought as well. Oop, election’s over or something, time to back to being a spineless twit.

“Why assume Mueller witch hunt is a bad thing?”

Because it’s not a ‘witch hunt’, it’s a COUP under the guise of law. A coup brought to us by jeff sessions, RR and the deep-state.

The special counsel’s reason for being is 3 fold:

1) Embroil the Trump administration with indictments-scandals with the ultimate goal of toppling(impeachment-resignation)

2) Use the SC to bury the mountain of high crime evidence against Hillary & the O’muslim regime.

3) Show the people what happens if you want to go to work for the Trump administration...You’ll be crucified by the propaganda press and indicted by a soviet-style special counsel. Your house raided in the dark of the night by the goose-steppers of the FBI.

What’s the harm? /bonghit /oxy /3 brain cells

“And... first Mueller came for someone I did not care about...”

It’s soviet union stuff. Searching for a crime. Another coup attempt. The fact that we have people here that can’t see what’s going on within our ‘own’ department of injustice makes me see red.

The entire rat infested DOJ needs to be gutted. Hopefully, that diminutive piece of living sh!t was just the start.

But what has changed?

Sessions was the reason nothing happened, right?

So, now that he’s gone, shouldn’t something be happening?

OR..maybe Sessions wasn’t the problem...

and we thought maybe Lindsay was regaining his senses (since McShame finally passed on)

fortunately, PDJT can just veto any such silly bill
(and all Hell will break loose, so let it!)

Sessions was a stooge for the deepstate. The insurance policy. He enabled the mueller coup through his pick of RR as his DAG and his idiot ass recusal. None of that happened by chance.

So Sessions saddled Trump with a soviet style coup that he[Trump] can’t get rid of because his own party will join the dems and impeach him...Thanks Jeff.

The DOJ is still chocked full of radical leftists who want to see Trump gone. Not just the DOJ, but the rest of our corrupt stasi state, too.
