A Glimpse Into a World Without Men
American Thinker ^ | 11/14/18 | Selwyn Duke

Ah, to have an all-female workplace, full of sugar and spice and everything nice and absent #MeToo turpitude and transgressions. Are you in, ladies? Well, before signing on that dotted line, you may want to consider the experiences of the sugar-and-spice girls at Sweden’s new Gender Equality Authority.

Yes, that sounds like what’s birthed when Orwell’s 1984 meets The Cannibal Women in the Avocado Jungle of Death (Bill Maher’s most memorable movie), but it wasn’t mainly men being consumed in this bureaucracy. As Sweden’s FriaTider reports (auto-translated and corrected for grammar):

The New Gender Equality Authority has a leadership consisting of 100 percent women. Ten months after its inception, an internal report now reveals a work environment so bad that 70 percent of its employees are distressed enough to be at risk of ill health, reports Ekot.

The internal survey, Ekot also noted, shows in addition that a majority of the employees of the Gender Equality Authority suffer from sleep problems and “risk fatigue”.

Among other things, the women-dominated workplace is characterized by bullying and harassment, according to the survey.

Anything 100% female or 100% male would be bad. The sexes are supposed to balance each other out, each making up for weaknesses in the other. Like a beautiful ballroom dance where the man’s strength and the woman’s gracefulness combine to make a perfect performance.

That would probably only work if the vast majority of the women (at least 90%) were rational, Miss Jane Hathaway types. The stereotypes of the ruled by emotion, passive-aggressive, mean girl, high school clique, gossipy, drama queen women in the workplace exist for a reason.

Cannibal Women in the Avocado Jungle of Death

Very fun movie, by the way.

Thinking back of all the bosses I've had over my career, they are, in order:

  1. Male -- not bad, but mildly dishonest.
  2. Female -- nice, competent but smoked like a chimney.
  3. Female -- mediocre.
  4. Self.
  5. Male -- jerk.
  6. Male -- One of my best, decent to the core.
  7. Male -- Jeykyll & Hyde at first, but became a lifelong friend.
  8. Male -- Great.
  9. Male -- One of my best.
  10. Male -- Mediocre but meant well.
  11. Male -- Jerk, one of my worst.
  12. Male -- Decent but new to the job.
  13. Male -- Very good but not great.
  14. Male --Worst ever, liar, thief and ingrate but skilled at corporate politics.
  15. Self.
  16. Female --One of my best, not on location most of the time, but logical thinker who EARNS respect.

There are jerks and idiots on both sides.

However, my experience with female bosses is that they are over aggressive, over demanding, mean spirited, etc...

They seem to have need to over compensate. They often act like a caricature of what they believe a strong male boss would act like.

There's no point in reasoning with them.

THEY are in charge. THEY make the decisions. There is NO discussion about of their decisions.

Yes there are. Best manager / boss I ever worked for was a woman.

On the other hand, the worst manager / boss i ever worked for was also a woman.

Ditto that.

I had one who was mean, petty and liberal. One year I cancelled my planned vacation for the end of the summer after a cancer diagnosis. I was able to do ABPI so I took a week at the beginning of the 4th quarter for treatment. She complained for weeks that I held on to my vacation just to cause trouble and NOT to do it in the future. Yeah, I "caught" cancer just to p$ss her off. Psycho.

If they didn't already know this was coming after having experienced high school, I have zero sympathy for them. :)

“Dirty little secret: The sandbagging and backstabbing at female dominated workplaces goes on at a whole ‘nother level that what you can even believe.”

It starts in school. Girls are the nastiest bullies out there and they are the ones who turn into the bullies as managers. It’s little reported, but the cliques formed by girls and later women are vicious, brutal and not remorseful in the least.

Just look at most of the teen movies out there. Eventually the bullies become part of society and still play their games and those they bullied become radical feminazis.

In the early 1970’s two countries were ruled by women, Israel and India, Golda and Indria. Both were at war with their neighbors.

The young adult novel “Epitaph Road” is somewhat similar. It turns out that a group of feminists released the virus that killed 97% of men in the world, then blamed aggressive men. The government then limits men’s career options and where they can live outside of the surveillance state, restricts male births to 5%, and limits the population in many other ways in the name of taking care of them and healing the world.

It is surprisingly balanced given its liberal author. For example, you see boys who choose to live in the male co-ops and the teen boy who wants to visit his father realizes that society tolerates this because it is a way to remove them without killing them. He and his friends learn about how the psychiatric organizations are used to suppress and discredit political dissidents.

They'll all eventually starve, because no one can decide where to eat for lunch.

My experience having had plenty of both male and female bosses in various roles as a consultant in the financial services industry:

Most bosses have been good.

Males are more likely to openly be jerks....ie the kind that refuses to invest 5 minutes up front explaining something and more importantly showing you what he wants...then gets all bent out of shape that you refused to read his mind and did not give him exactly what he wanted even though he never bothered explaining what he wanted in the first place.

Women are a lot more likely to backstab...to be nice to your face but then torpedo you behind your back.

Again, this is clearly a minority of both genders. Most have been good to work for and easy to get along with.

I remember reading an article in golf digest some time ago written by a woman who played golf with groups of men and groups of women to compare and contrast the groups. Her summary went something like this: “men talk trash to and with their male cohorts while women stand back and talk about the other women.” I don’t see anything in my life that disputes her finding.

“They eventually became more and more aggressive, just like men...”

They’re not already that agressive? Ever really watch and listen to women in action on their turf? Never been shit tested? Test for today — Firmly disagree with a woman publicly and observe her reaction.

Sugar and spice...eye liner and fake nails...masks.

Btw, it’s all guys in work clothes at hotels grabbing breakfast at 6 am before tackling another long, hard day away from home.

I don't know. This seemed like a pretty successful enterprise. Of course, the boss, Harlow Shapely was a man, but he looked out for his ladies. The woman may have been grateful to have the opportunity to work a jobs they loved, but they were never given the respect afforded their male counterparts (especially by German astronomers). Shapely wanted Annie Jump Canon to be given the title of Professor, but the President of Harvard said that Harvard would never have a woman professor. Despite the best efforts of David Hilbert, der Noether never received an academic appointment at Göttingen, either.
