CNN is pursuing the wrong course here, by wanting Jim Acosta reinstated. He does not serve CNN well, he does not know how to ask questions, he cannot or will not accept the answers to the questions he does ask, and he is unconscionably rude all the while.
Filibustering a press conference is perhaps nowhere forbidden, but it is ineffectual in the end. Other correspondents, with perhaps much more relevant questions, are simply crowded out of any dialogue, and the story becomes Jim Acosta, not the events that Team Trump and the White House are actively pulling together.

Actually, Acosta did not assault the intern. However, the assault ‘charge’ was brilliant. Acosta’s obnoxiousness would have never been replayed by the media otherwise. In their quest for Acosta’s vindication, they had to play the tape over and over again. Even if edited down to the moment, Acosta looks like a complete asshole.
