Judiciary Committee processes Trump nominees over Democrats' objections

Senators returned to Washington Tuesday and immediately picked up where they left off — processing President Trump’s judicial nominees, over the objections of Democrats.

The Judiciary Committee held a hearing for Paul B. Matey, nominated to the 3rd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, and for four district court picks.

Mr. Matey’s nomination is particularly controversial because it marks another round in the fight over Senate traditions and courtesies and their abuse in the era of Mr. Trump.

Mr. Matey is slated to fill a seat on the appeals court that’s traditionally ascribed to New Jersey. But that state’s senators, both Democrats, object to the president’s pick, and have withheld their “blue slips” to signify their opposition.

“To say that my objections to this judge is just because they’re conservative is just not fair,” Sen. Cory Booker said, arguing he wasn’t properly consulted on Mr. Matey’s nomination. “Nobody has asked me what my objections might be.”

Committee Chairman Charles E. Grassley, Iowa Republican, countered that the White House reached out numerous times.

Maybe if we get more conservative judges, we won’t have so many of these absurd extensions of voting time, etc., as we are witnessing in Florida and Georgia.

I hate reporters that simply repeat what two sides say, as if that is news.

IF they were real journalists, they would find FACTS. Booker says nobody asked him about his problems with the pick. Grassley says the White House has asked him multiple times.

So, a journalist would find out which side was lying. I’m guessing Booker. Because he is Sparticus.

The constant discontent of the nattering naybobs of the left are becoming so annoying and the people’s work going undone due to the obstructionist stance, can tarring and feathering be far off?

As we have all witnessed, especially since Trump took office, this country is run by Lawyers and Judges. Any law (even an unconstutional law like ObamaCare) is decided by Judges at all different levels. They can overturn laws, squash executive orders, throw out lawsuits, tilt election rules in favor of one party, allow non citizens to vote and receive drivers license, stomp on religious rights or pretty much do whatever the hell the want with a massive police force to back them up. Trump knows this is his number one priority if he has any chance to move forward on his pro America agenda.

Don’t get carried away, the courts do not yet have their own army. Andy Jackson just ignored the USSC ruling in favor of the Cherokees by saying “it has made its ruling, now let it enforce it.” Or something to that effect. This allowed the gold prospectors and others to seize their lands, kinda a Caravan type of affair.

As far as I can see, the Executive could seize every courthouse of any consequence. Not constitutionally but we are talking lawlessness here as you so eloquently described.

Lawlessness pretending to be Law.

I heard Flakey won’t vote in any judges until he gets protection for Mueller and his “investigation”.

They can move them to the floor with the Judiciary Committee’s approval.
