Remember the cold way they fired all those people in the White House Travel office. The fawning media didn’t seem to care much about those people.
To: Enterprise
Bottom line. She didn’t get her way, so she actually threatened to remove NSC support for Melania’s trip to a nasty part of the world.
F her. Disagreeing is one thing, but giving less than 100% as revenge is a firing offense.

I would say that have a speak softly but carry a big stick kind of First Lady. I'd agree with this if she had taken care of business behind the scenes without splashing palace intrigue headlines across the media.
To: DesertRhino
Oh, I agree. She didn’t understand her role. Now she can go have a hissy fit somewhere else.

I sure do; I was just barely out of HS but I still remember who Billy Dale was lol. I used to think I was the only 18-19 yr old guy watching C-Span obsessively LMAO...miss B-1 Bob's tirades 😂

She was so effective and credible at her job that I've never even heard of her.

To the contrary. I think this shows an openness that is refreshing. I’m astonished at how similar Melania and DJT are.

Just wonder how much snake in the grass stuff is going on the White House these days?

I also SMH head at these people. They have jobs which are resume enhancements like no other! And yet some of these people are stupid enough to be disloyal when genuine loyalty will be much more career enhancing in the future?

Its not a good idea to pick a fight with the bosss wife, regardless of where you work.

I'd agree with this if she had taken care of business behind the scenes without splashing palace intrigue headlines across the media. In another article on the subject, it reveals that the quiet route was tried first, but rebuffed by Bolton. Thus, the louder method.
To do otherwise is to accept control from someone who has no right to control you.

In a place like Washington DC, where you sit is a currency considered more valuable than gold. Its also unwise to pick a fight with someone who sleeps with the boss.
First Ladies traditionally get broad authority over social and protocol issues. Staffers can provide advice and recommendations, but will get cut off at the knees if they presume to make decisions.

Absolutely.
Playing power games that she will never win against the First Lady when traveling to a dangerous part of the world?
If Bolton has a hissy fit and threatens to quit all the better.
I've lived in East Asia for a decade. John Bolton has a reputation here all right, but not a good one. Not sure if he's ever received a persona non grata classification yet, but several countries have considered it. Pompao is a diplomat; John Bolton behaves like the playground bully, even when it is not needed or desirable to pi#s people off. You don't make deals in Asia behaving like that, you simply make enemies.

were assigned to a larger-than-usual security entourage and a small press corps with none for Ricardel or another NSC staffer,
Of course extra security is needed for her safety, much more so than an advisor especially in these times.
To: E. Pluribus Unum
Ricadel threatened to withhold advice.......she needs to be fired for that. Ricadel looks like an ugly hag

In another article on the subject, it reveals that the quiet route was tried first, but rebuffed by Bolton. Thus, the louder method. Then she could have made her nemesis persona non-grata in the East Wing and refuse to work with her. Melania made this way too personal.
