Newly declassified documents reveal the CIAwhich is supposed to be strictly limited in the types of surveillance and other secret operations it conducts on U.S. soilroutinely monitors U.S. government computer systems.
That information is contained in two formerly secret letters of congressional notification written in 2014 by the Intelligence Community inspector general at the time, Charles McCullough. In the letters, McCullough reveals the CIA secretly intercepted and collected emails between congressional staff and the CIAs head of whistleblowing and source protection. The collection was said to occur as part of the CIAs routine counterintelligence monitoring of government computer systems.
Several sources familiar with the congressional notifications at the time, but unable to speak about it until now because the material was classified, said it is extremely worrisome that the CIA intercepted private communications with Senate staff about Intelligence Community whistleblowers.
Most of these emails concerned pending and developing whistleblower complaints, wrote McCullough in letters to lead Democrats and Republicans at the time on the House and Senate Intelligence CommitteesSen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.), Sen. Saxby Chambliss (R-Ga.), Rep. Mike Rogers (R-Mich.), and Rep. Dutch Ruppersberger (D-Md.).
McCullough said he was concerned about the CIAs potential compromise to whistleblower confidentiality and the consequent chilling effect that the present [counterintelligence] monitoring system might have on Intelligence Community whistleblowing.

Brennan
He lied to her And Feinstein did nothing
Why, this sounds like a nut-job conspiracy......or, at least worthy of a ping list.....
You can bet they had Hillary’s emails, too.
Without controlling the House this all gets swept under the rug.
This news has been around for months already.
We know they found gerbil tapes on Sessions’ computer.
The slave has become the master.
Seems that wasn’t enough, this cycle they elected some of their own to Congress.
Well, I think we all remember when James Clapper lied.
Then, James Clapper lied about when he lied.
But the Democrats tell us to trust John Brennan and James Clapper.
Words fail me when it comes to the CIA.
Bet they spied on the U.S. Supreme Court; especially CJ John Roberts. Only conclusion to make for Roberts voting for Obamacare.
When Congress learned about this and the Awan Brothers, the behavior of so many changed.
They are compromised. Some left this midterm.
Those who remain and have something to hide will toe the line and appease the alphabet gestapo

The Never-Trumpers left because they knew they had no chance of re-election while Trump was still in the WH. No reason to give the Awan Criminals any credit.
Yours is one opinion.
Mine is another.
It has been reported that Awan’s blackmailed members of congress. They should be in jail. But, since they have the goods on so many, they walked.
Did our recent CIA head get asked if she had any part of this conspiracy?
Welcome to Free Republic
Plenty of FReepers didn’t give a dam back then on the CIa hacking the Senate crap.

I had been thinking for several years that “it is over for the USA”. Now the last 2 years have been great fun, and DJT is so predictably unpredictable ..... but things could be worse.
So I shall stay tuned.
(But I still think it is over for the USA.)
Wrong. The Senate has more direct oversight over CIA,DOJ, etc. That is why President Trump focused on the Senate races. 53-47
And the Senate has done what, exactly, compared to what the House has done in helping Trump?
