The caller at 12:45p raises the obvious defense. Structure our election procedures so clearly and tightly that the left is no longer able to effectively contest the results that pertain to our federal government (the States are probably on their own).
We should do so while we have the Senate and the Oval Office, and while there is still time.
Good to see someone else gets it. A Republic cannot stand if its election apparatus is corrupt. The Founders knew that only a virtuous electorate, educated as to the ways of self-governance and who had a stake in the viability of the Republic (e.g., entrepreneurs, land owners, et al.), could be entrusted with something as vital to the health of the government as the franchise. Lose that, and we lose the Republic, and all of its good.
The Left is attacking this aspect of our liberty and vitality. That is the whole purpose of the Soros-funded Secretary of State Project. Control the election machinery, and you control the outcome of an election. The 'Rats know this. Sometimes I think conservatives believe we have an electorate of the nature that the Founders envisioned. Sadly, I don't think we do anymore.
