Rosenstein has been removed from any oversight of the Mueller investigation, so his presence isn't a big deal.

More importantly, the Deputy AG post was never established by Congress in the first place. It was created in 1950 by an internal DOJ memorandum. As a result, it is very easy to simply push the guy into the background by changing his job description or even issuing an executive order to make the Deputy AG post vanish.

I was too, it sounded like he’d be gone a few days after Sessions resigned.
