Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) offered his thoughts on who should replace former Attorney General Jeff Sessions during an interview with Breitbart News Deputy Political Editor Amanda House. I think your cabinet needs to have people in it who agree with you, Paul said when asked if he was happy about Sessions departure. I think for a long time Jeff Sessions hasnt really been working for what the president would like him to do.
I also think that there are some big reforms that we need of our justice and our intelligence agencies, and I think justice can be part of that, Paul added. What theyve done to the president has been very unfair with going after his campaign, trying to entrap people.
This whole thing [of going after Trumps campaign], I think, was set up by people in the intelligence community. Some call it the deep state. Yes, these are people that are there forever and they care more about power and their power than they do about anybodys individual rights.
What Ive been encouraging the president is that he needs somebody to be attorney general who actually recognizes what they did to President Trump was wrong, Paul explained.
Sessions has a steady past of opposing criminal justice reform. During his time as a United States senator, Sessions fought against the Sentencing Reform and Corrections Act. As attorney general, Sessions was unmoveable when it came to low-level drug offense reform, for which he was often criticized.

He will and so will a lot of others.

Bingo.
yes
I agree with the Senator, wholeheartedly, on this and most things. But, in order to accomplish this, he’d pretty much have to fire every single one of them and start over.
Actually there are rogue elements in the intel community which has been getting cleaned out. There ae those who ae fighting hard against them.
It is going to take more than firing people to fix this problem.
Very true. But that’s the first step, IMHO. They live their lives thinking nothing can happen to them, make their money, mess with lives and collect a pension at the end. They don’t know how easy they have it.
I think his neighbor is in the deep state.
The one that attacked him? Maybe. If not, he’s just a useful idiot for it, thinking that he’ll be allowed into the secret club if he does the right things.
He may be a 2024 possibility.
An AG with balls.
Democrats will fight against this tooth and nail.
Sessions and his “democrats” made the AG job totally irrelevant. Money shouldn’t be wasted on an Attorney General and his so called “Justice Department” anymore. The DOJ is a joke. A real clown show in America. It needs to be shut down and the FBI should be shut down with it. All they are now are just another tentacle of the DNC.
He’s right on this one.

They don’t understand how fast they ae going to lose it and with a viciousness that is going to rock their world. Things are in motion which are going to escalate quickly.
Unless it is a guaranteed thing that Rand will be replaced in the Senate by a very conservative Repub, I am against it.
IMO senators are politicians first and so make poor administrators.
Very true ... but actually too bad that Americans should have to be reminded of such a fundamental requirement
