But Donald Trump didn’t lose - he is still President. And he has a stronger Senate than ever before, so his agenda that involves making appointments to the various levels of Federal courts is very much in his favor. Maybe now, he can get the appointments to his Cabinet that he is seeking, to make Team Trump the well-oiled and smooth-running machine it should be.
So far as the House of Representatives is concerned, it is not entirely without its silver linings. The various Democrat chairs of committees will spend so much time trying out various investigations of Trump or his subordinates, they will have little time to actually work on legislation. And to be fair, most of the legislation they propose and maybe even get passed in the House will simply go to the Senate and die there, whether it comes up to a vote or not.
Then there is always the backstop of the veto, which would have little likelihood of being overridden in both houses anyway.
The Democrat control of the House is an exercise in futility for the Democrat leadership, as they shall only make themselves the more unpopular. And think, most of the “never Trumpers” in the Republican party will already be weeded out when 2020 comes around.
