More likely he is up for reelection two years from now and he saw what happened to Corker and Flake. He had serious opposition in the last election. So this is just plain self preservation. He is still any way an open borders, rino traitor, quisling and not to be trusted.

His re-election is not in question. He was the principle reason Kavaunaugh was confirmed. When it came time to act he delivered.

His reelection is not in question now due to his handling of our business recently. But his renomination was in doubt as it was 4 years ago when he drew 2 high level opponents. I do not trust him. I do not trust anyone of the Gang of 8 who gave us the biggest threat to our country since Pearl Harbor.
