Swalwell obviously doesn’t understand why the 2nd amendment was written in the first place - despite being a perfect example of ‘why’.
Don’t be so dramatic. You claiming you need a gun to protect yourself against the government is ludicrous. But you seem like a reasonable person. If an assault weapons ban happens, I’m sure you’ll follow law.
I think he understands perfectly what it is for. Which is why he is so opposed to it.

Problem for him - and others like him - is that Americans have a REAL aversion to allowing themselves to be murdered...
