It's likely because of all the fake ballots for Democrats, generated after the polls, closed, were "lost". The officials thought it was better to "lose" them, than have them around which could prove fraud.

This is all a setup for Nelson to file a lawsuit for a full (all ballots in the state) hand recount after the election is certified. Gore pulled the same crap after the 2000 election to have a recount in 3 counties after the certification and the Florida Supremes said okie dokie to it before the U S Supremes said no to that 7 - 2 and halted the whole thing 5 - 4.
