No. Central Americans have always despised Mexicans and vice versa. This isn't new. Care to guess where it originates?

Futbol = soccer. Mexican attitude of superiority towards other teams within the CONCACAF. To be fair, Mexico backs it up, but it is a deep cultural issue of national pride. Honduras and El Salvador went to war in 1969 when a soccer game exacerbated tensions between the two.
