The last time I was at a Chipotle (years ago) you get in a line like in a cafeteria, sliding your tray along as you tell them what you want on your wrap or salad. At the end of the line is the cash register where you pay, adding your chips, drinks, etc.

So after your food is all prepared to your order, THEN you pay.

Subway is the same way.

Subway might be preparing it, but they DO NOT hand it over to you UNTIL you pay for it all. I eat at the local Subway at least once a month.

Right. This story is puzzling to me. Without taking any sides here, I cannot fathom how anyone could even attempt to “dine and dash” at Chipotle seeing as how you have to pay before they even hand you your meal.
