They were both charged with murder of an unborn child; This crime of murder has been committed millions of times over the last decades in abortion clinics. Restore morality by making abortion a crime and stop asking decent people to pay for it through taxes.

I don’t consider LWOP “getting away with it.” Not as final as being drawn and quartered, but it does prolong the reflection time.
At 33 years old he can expect to spend fifty years in prison. He might soon wish the family would have taken him out.
He gets a warm bed, three meals a day and plenty of exercise and recreation for the rest of his life.

I I would never put up with that if I was the woman’s father. A son in law that killed my child would be absolutely dead to me.

What does it cost nowadays, something like $40,000.00 per year? If he lives 30 more years, that will cost the taxpayers 1.2 million dollars.
Bullets are cheaper and more fair. Stupid Jury. They ought to put a tax on Juries that vote for life. Make them pay for their own squeamishness.
I doubt he’ll survive til New Years Eve.

The DA personally met with the victims’ family and they approved the deal. The practicality is they will be spared years and years of court proceedings and appeals, having to relive their grief every time they attend one. And, as others have noted, the chances of the guy actually being executed are slim in the present political climate in this state.
