Probably about a quarter of the crap that has already been dumped on America. America is finished.

No immigrants should be let in until they can speak OUR OFFICIAL LANGUAGE with something close to an American accent. We don’t need the influence of foreign cultures. This is America. People here are Christian, capitalist and speak English. Want to come here? Then get with the program.

Not sure which Ted Talk you’re talking about but this one using gumballs by Roy Beck illustrates why America nor any other country can do anything about world’s poor; including absorbing them. They need to fix the problem in their own country on their own land.

Just because a country can absorb migrants does not mean it has an obligation to or a moral duty to.

You will never cure poverty by importing more of it.

There is no need for speculation on this question. History provides us with the answer: How many Angles and Saxons and Jutes did it take to turn Roman Britain into England? How many Franks did it take to turn Roman Gallia into France? How many Longbeards to turn Tuscany into Lombardy? Or closer to home, what ratio of Europeans to American Indians to turn the lands of the First Nations into European North America?

My readings suggest it partly depends on the status of the invaders: replace the top 5 to 10 per cent of the population with foreign aristocrats (and their soldiers) and the masses become assimilated to the invaders, and the Gauls become Romans, who then become Franks when the rulers change. Replace the serfs and peons with foreigners, and the Ruling Class can go on pretending it is still their Great-Grandfathers’ Country for quite some time, 200, maybe even 400 years. It doesn't even take the complete replacement of the lower class workers; 30% will do, no more than 1 in 3.

None.

However, we can absorb lots of LEGAL, non-criminal, non-terrorist immigrants who want to assimilate and support this country and contribute to it.

Yes, Pope Francis keeps reminding us to be generous, to open our “homes,” and to build bridges not walls.

From a guy who lives in a walled city in a palace with his own highly trained and armed security.

What is President Trump to do? Welcome them all in, as one interpretation of Pope Francis’s recent exhortations seems to imply?

How many people of the world live in poor conditions, in search of opportunities not available in their countries? The answer is many billions of people. Yes, billions. Even if the U.S.A. took in 100 million of these poor, it wouldn't make a dent in the massive number worldwide. And, those billions of poor people continue to create more impoverished children every year that exceed any number we could take in. Let Pope Francis take them and try to fit a fraction of them in Vatican City. Not solving the problem!

The answer is to fix the problem where these people currently reside. Letting them into our country is never going to be the answer.

The majority are unsophisticated and uneducated.....I hear a lot of them talking about working as a carpenter or in the fields.....the women with children are mostly single woman as 'they say' the Honduran men to not want the responsibility of children. And for that I figure a lot of the men are 'running away' from that they have left back home.

They are not starving as evidences in the vast number plenty hefty and then some. Regardless of whatever excuse they use it's very clear they are economic migrants. As for Who 'fix's there problem with their country? Billions have been sent for years....but until the corruption in their government changes to where the monies reaches the peoples concerns that's not going to change no matter how much cash you throw their way. The people believe the government should provide.....one woman complained she needed more medication but all the gov. did was give her a perscription to buy it. So the mindset isn't good.

I don't want us sending money there either. When I said the answer is to fix the problem where these people currently reside, I meant they have to do it themselves. We have to be responsible for Americans in the U.S.A., as we have enough people here that need a helping hand. Those people in other countries have to clean up their own house, we shouldn't have to take them in or fix their problems.

As for the invaders coming here illegally, they are line jumpers. Plenty of people try to come in the legal way, waiting years to complete the process. Line jumpers should be tossed out or incarcerated until they can be tossed out; they certainly should not be let in at all.

Judge bars US from enforcing Trump asylum ban

HOUSTON (AP) — A federal judge barred the Trump administration on Monday from refusing asylum to immigrants who cross the southern border illegally.

U.S. District Judge Jon S. Tigar issued a temporary restraining order after hearing arguments in San Francisco.

Armed civilian volunteers on the border would prevent entry.

Yes...that's right. “Those people in other countries have to clean up their own house, we shouldn't have to take them in or fix their problems.”

We have helped so many countries get their governments in working order by showing them how and what they need to do. Unfortunately the S. American leadership continue to only line their own pockets........so it's up to their citizens to rise up and change it themselves.....obviously they don't think building their own country or doing the hard work and sacrifice for their children is worth the bother......it's ‘easier’ just to invade another prosperous country and make demands....which they will no doubt demand..
