They would do well. But invest some time in learning some of the basics of the language.

I loved Warsaw when I was there, and it's growing by leaps and bounds. But I really enjoy the Krakow/Zakopane area as well.

Don’t know about women, but if you are a male you cannot own real property.
You can marry a Polish woman and purchase property but otherwise you would just be a renter.
(and the property would be in your Polish wifes name).
