President Trump took time off from his long holiday weekend on Wednesday to slam Chief Justice John Roberts, who earlier in the day had rebuked the president for his attacks on the federal judiciary.
“Sorry Chief Justice John Roberts, but you do indeed have ‘Obama judges,’ and they have a much different point of view than the people who are charged with the safety of our country. It would be great if the 9th Circuit was indeed an ‘independent judiciary,” the commander-in-chief tweeted from Mar-a-Lago after a round of golf with the legendary Jack Nicklaus.
“[B]ut if it is why are so many opposing view (on Border and Safety) cases filed there, and why are a vast number of those cases overturned. Please study the numbers, they are shocking. We need protection and security – these rulings are making our country unsafe! Very dangerous and unwise!”
Roberts had earlier criticized the president for his scathing criticism of the federal judiciary — praising the longstanding American tradition of judicial independence.
Roberts specifically pushed back against the president’s description of a judge who ruled against his new hardline migrant asylum policy as an “Obama judge.”
“We do not have Obama judges or Trump judges, Bush judges or Clinton judges. What we have is an extraordinary group of dedicated judges doing their level best to do equal right to those appearing before them,” Roberts said in a statement. “That independent judiciary is something we should all be thankful for.”

To criticize judicial decsions does not detract one iota from the constitutional separation of powers of the three federal branches of government, with their separate independent powers. Judges critisize the legislature and or the executive all the time when they overturn an action that one of the other two branches has committed. How is it that judges think they are immune to the other two branches critisizing them???
Exactly right. When Obongo attacked the SC at the SOTU address for the citizens united decision Roberts said nothing, at least Alito shook his head and said “not true”.
I begin to think that Obama had/has a different sort of secret hold on Justice Roberts, not involving adopted children form Ireland.
I agree, and have for most of 40 years. It is about time that one of the so-called co-equal branches of our government is challenged by one of the other co-equal branches of our government.
I think Levin is serving our country far better where he is, doing what he does, than he would on the S/C.
If Roberts wasn’t a quisling POS, instead of barking back at the President, he would have Pulled this case from the lower court and Over Ruled it and SLAPPED THEM DOWN PUBLICLY! for failing to follow Supreme Court Precedent that was just handed down recently regarding immigration

He thinks the children of foreign nationals born in a foreign country that have one American citizen parent are natural born citizens eligible to be President.

If he had any decency he would resign and remove whatever blackmail issue is being held over his head from affecting the rest of us. Now that we have a President ready and willing to replace him with an uncorrupted conservative he has no moral justification to stay. Keep your deep dark secret John and just leave.
