Yes. Roberts pulled the “mandate/tax” thing out of his asz, and he did it specifically to save Obama the embarrassment.

The Roberts Adoption:

They adopted 2 kids from Ireland. Irish law makes it illegal for people not residing in Ireland to do that. The 2 Irish mothers flew to somewhere in Latin America, gave up the kids to “kid brokers”. The kids were exported to America, to the Roberts couple:

The adoption was technically illegal —Roberts was vulnerable on this.

You’ve seen the not-so-gay “gay photos” but a lot of people think the Illegal Adoption is why he flipped on Obamacare.

He wrote a crazy rationale that started out with wording highly suggestive that he had once been against Obamacare.

Some people think Roberts was blackmailed.

“Things to come” came when Roberts pimped Obamacare for the Kenyan Obonzo.

After yet another liberal (fascist) California judge earlier this week blocked one of President Trump’s policies - this time a new asylum rule that would have required applicants to arrive at a designated port of entry (a lot to ask, I know) - the understandably frustrated president lashed out at liberal (fascist)courts in general.

We must NOT call them liberals any longer. They are far from real liberals. (Like me) They are really fascists in disguise. NOT liberals.

An added bonus is to call attention to the term and make people really think about what fascism actually is.

Make people think!

I tend to agree with you, but, as far as I’m concerned Roberts fired the first shot across the bow. It was SCOTUS that, recently, said the Executive Branch had the authority to make these decisions. There is a statute that backs that up. As usual, a judge from the 9th Circuit, felt the need to assert authority he does not have, to counter a policy he does not agree with.

Maybe the President should have just done what obama would have done. Ignored the court and ordered Border Patrol, etc to carry out his orders. It’s not like the 9th Circuit is going to send the US Marshals to the border to lock up the Border Patrol, especially when the President is, ultimately, their boss.

At the end of the day, Roberts showed his true colors. He’s a globalist, at best. Closet RINO/Liberal/GOPe/NWO stooge that was picked by Bush for a reason.

Derp state. A wonderful typo.

Not a typo.

I invented it as a way to mock the enemy.

And all the enemies are derps.

Good luck!

Those children of Roberts are about 17 now so they aren’t going to be taken away. Roberts doesn’t need to be embarrassed as the illegality of the adoption is fairly widely known. So it seems the reason for his comments about Trump may well be that he is just another neverTrumper in truth.

"...2005-2006 was Free Republic's finest, most thrilling, and most consequential hour..."

yeah, that was a certainly a good moment, but my vote goes to 2004 when Buckhead caught the photoshop fakery that Dan Rather tried to use to take down Bush... and ultimately it took Rather down, instead.

(maybe someone can start a thread - whats your vote for great moments in Free Republic history)

What can I tell you? Roberts didn’t criticize Obama because he was afraid of him.

Does he actually know that Scalia died of natural causes? No.
Does he know that President Trump isn’t dangerous to the court, or to the rule of law? Yes.

OTOH the courts all pretend that none of them are anything but apolitical. It is de riguer. I refer you to the Bush v. Gore case, in which - notwithstanding the best efforts of the Supreme Court of Florida - SCOTUS found that Bush won Florida fair and square.

The majority in that case knew perfectly well that the Supreme Court of Florida had its thumb on the scales for Gore. That’s why they decided as they did. But the last thing they wanted (after seeing Gore wrongly win) was to admit that the Supreme Court of Florida was cooking the books. Which is why they famously warned against anyone ever citing Bush v. Gore as precedent.

The bottom line is that the fact that Justice Roberts feels free to criticize Trump for telling the truth about the Ninth Circus is a sign of the health of the Republic. Even if the fact that Mr. Trump was correct is not.
