Only after a Free Republic insurrection destroyed Bush's first nominee - the “non-partisan” Harriet Miers - in October 2005.

2005-2006 was Free Republic's finest, most thrilling, and most consequential hour.

The internal GOP revolt that crushed the Bush-McCain Amnesty and the Harriet Miers nomination began and was sustained on these very same pages.

yeah, that was a certainly a good moment, but my vote goes to 2004 when Buckhead caught the photoshop fakery that Dan Rather tried to use to take down Bush... and ultimately it took Rather down, instead.
