Cruz won his first senate race in 2012, a Presidential year. He benefited from a large turnout in a solid red state and the growing dislike of Obama who received 3.5 million less votes nationally than in 2008.
Cruz proved to be a sore loser in 2016 who pointedly refused to endorse Trump at the GOP convention despite being given a primetime speaking spot on TV. Instead, he told people to “vote their conscience.” Cruz was never popular in the Senate having few friends. The term likeable is seldom used for Cruz.
Gov Abbott clearly outperformed Cruz. Of course, he did not have an opponent with over $100 million and most of Hollywood trying to unseat him.

The Democrat field will be real crowded in 2020 and as a result, the primary race will be nasty. I think Beto will be sliced and diced early in the process. I hope Hillary runs because there will be no deference to her this time. She’s had her chances and the youngsters are tired of waiting on the sidelines to get into the game.
It won’t be him. They’ll use him to get millions of airheads of the opposite sex (and a few thousand of the same sex) excited over him, and then they’ll nominate a big America hater like the muzzy from Minnesota.
Also, the 40 House Rinos who "retired" knew that incumbents have a 96% re-election rate, and they knew that at least half their seats were going to be lost to KKKrats once they were up for grabs.
The House was a combination of those things, not over-confidence on our part.
You have to worry about defeating The Cheat of 2020, now that the KKKrats have shown us what's in store with the Orange County Mexifornia Steal.
Obama received more votes than any Presidential candidate in history. His 2008 total was the highest in history with 2012 being the second highest for any candidate. Third was Hillary Clinton in 2016. Fortunately, the popular vote is not how we elect our presidents.
Maintaining the status quo on legal immigration will make the Dems the permanent majority party within a decade. By 2019, half of the children 18 and under will be minorities as classified by the USG. Each cohort that turns 18 annually will be more minority and more Dem than the previous one.
We have brought in 35 million legal permanent immigrants since 1990. This is the equivalent of the current population of Canada. Close to 90% of the 1.1 million legal immigrants who enter each year are minorities. Immigrants and minorities vote more than two to one Dem. Immigrants and their US born children drive 80% of our population growth. By 2043 non-Hispanic whites, the primary GOP base, will be 50% of the population, down from the current 63% today, and the 89% in 1970.

I disagree! First of all, it would have been historic for the House to stay Republican. Why the f*cked up voters of this country find it impossible to stay with a winning combination escapes me. I guess there are too many stupid, brain dead citizens in this country, but it’s been the case for all of my lifetime and probably long before. Secondly, the GOPe has been doing everything it could, working with their RAT buddies (and totally against the policies that Trump has been trying to implement) to “get things back to their kind of normal,” where they get paid for being “the loyal opposition,” welching on every promise they made to the voters if we would only vote them into the majority.

Trump has to win WI, MI, PA, states that went overwhelmingly dem. He also needs FL which was too close for comfort. AZ and even GA appear to be in play.

This bears repeating. I think for Trump to be re-elected, he has to start acting more "Presidential". Of course, this will be met with howls of derision, but thats my opinion. He has already lost a few people I know because of this. Can he gain more than he has lost? I hope so. I think we could blunt the ‘highest number of votes’ by knowing how many CITIZENS are in each District. If the number of votes goes over, at all, the number of citizens, we will have a claim to non-citizens voting. That’s the only way to get a fair election. That and complete reregistration of the country....but I suspect the Dems would fight that hard. There are stories of California Dems signing the people on skid row in LA, many using multiple fake names, for the offer of cigarettes or alcohol. Reregistration may the only way to a fair election.

The truly deadly civil war in China (before WWII) was itself, in part due to the global socialist objectives of the communist in Moscow, as well as WWII breaking out in Europe, as it was also due to both the national socialists (or NAZI) in Germany, and global socialist or communist in Russia. Spain’s deadly civil war, which included the same period, was also a war largely between national socialists (fascists), and global socialist (or communists).
Interestingly, actual Stalin worship is becoming popular again around the world, with left-wing socialist organizations and youth groups. Now we can sleep better tonight, knowing we are on the right track!

In 1921, “Mao” became the founder and leader of the violent and illegal Chinese Communist Party (CCP). In 1923, without getting into all the details, the Kuomintang (KMT) nationalist party allied itself with Mao’s CCP. They had a deadly back and forth (enemy and ally) relationship until after WWII.
What many left-wing apologists, authors of history, and academics have left out, is the fact, “Mao” had been groomed (under an international Soviet Communist program, designed to “educate” and groom potential communist leaders from around the world, from nearly every country, from the US to Kenya). “Mao” was groomed and supported by the Soviet Communist government in Moscow, even traveling back and forth for over a decade before WWII, and was ultimately fully supported by “Stalin” himself, whose aim was a global socialist/communist totalitarian government.
So, whether WWII began in East Asia or Europe, socialist parties were involved in the genesis of war in both locations, working to advance socialism/communism.
In fact, the deadly and violent nature of “Mao’s” CCP had been known by French, British, US, Japanese, and a handful of other foreign intelligence services.
Today, left wing socialist academia and apologists in Europe and the US, claim numbers of dead in China due to “Mao” taking over China and controlling it, at only 45-50 million. What a comforting thought. However, while there is a range, I have personally listened to pro-Mao communist Chinese historians speak of 90-105 million people being necessarily eliminated, all land being nationalized, and belief systems aligned to save China. This does not touch post “Mao” China, or the losses of any other country in Southeast Asia due to aggressive Communist takeover.
