It was this attitude, the attitude that "PDJT is loved everywhere because I love him and thus we are going to gain seats!" that cost us the house. How many posts did I see that said "the polls are wrong and we are going to gain seats?"
Yep! A whole lotta whistling past the graveyard going on here. Freepers here sounding like Pauline Kael, "There's no way the Democrats can win! I don't know anyone who is voting for them!"
Had the dims ran a different candidate in 2016....someone appealing to the inner cities that would have GOTV there, we would not be talking about PDJT.
People forget that a significant number of Donald Trump's votes came from the "Anyone but Hillary" crowd. They're unlikely (though not guaranteed) to make the same mistake in 2020 of putting someone so divisive on the ticket. They put someone like Beto at the top and he pacifies the ABH voters.
This bears repeating. I think for Trump to be re-elected, he has to start acting more "Presidential". Of course, this will be met with howls of derision, but thats my opinion. He has already lost a few people I know because of this. Can he gain more than he has lost? I hope so. Besides, if Trump were to go Presidential, it would drive the MSM and the liberals absolutely insane, I mean, more than they are now...
