Well, there is this problem.

I’m pro-gun-rights. But, every time there’s a shooting, in response to the predictable “ban them” screams from the left, there’s the pro-gun response about enforcing the laws, but also about keeping guns from the truly crazy as well as the criminal.

How is that “crazy assessment” going to work in practice? Is it going to be “hermitism”, or consumption of prescribed anti-depressants, or a one-sentence accusation by a domestic ex-partner?

It’s a serious question that I don’t have an answer to, except to have the ability to be armed myself.

“I’m pro-gun-rights. But,”

This is spoken exactly like a Northeasterner, a “But conservative”

Every person alive, in this country or not, has the natural right to defend themselves. Since we don’t have razor sharp claws, teeth, antlers, or can run really fast we need our superior brains to craft weapons and tools.

the gun is just one of those tools. And that tool is the great equalizer - A little old lady can defend herself from a horde of young, fit and violent men because of this invention. Anyone can put food on their table. It’s not an exclusive club.

It is the job of Congress to make sure that we, it’s citizens, are armed and trained to take on any enemy (And squelch uprisings).

I have two friends. One kicked the car door of his exwife after she packed up the kids to move in with her new boyfriend and his larger paycheck. His daughter was in the back of the car. did you know that kicking a car with a child in the back is felony endangerment to a child ? He didn’t.

He has a felony record now and 30 days in jail. That’s it. 30 days in jail. Felony.

My mother’s best friend is manic depressive. Somedays she is funny and hyper and happy to be alive - others she just sits in the house all day and listens to music and cries and writes poetry.

When we say “But..” what we are saying is that those people do not deserve the natural ability to defend themselves. We are telling them, in action, that they aren’t worth living. That they aren’t the same as us, they aren’t granted god and nature’s gift of self defense.

At clearest, we are saying that they are second-class citizens. Readily deprived of something that we hold so dear.

That is the reason I don’t dig on Northeast Conservatives. They always claim one thing, but easily offer up exceptions. This sort of reasoning is what lead thousands of CT residents to line up at the barracks to register their rifles and magazines. I know only ONE MAN who didn’t and that man is a true patriot.

Everyone deserves the chance to defend themselves in a manner that THEY choose. Regardless of any paper, law or allowance.

If we are worried about others getting hurt by the insane or the dangerously angry then the answer is simple: Everyone on the planet has a natural right to defend themselves. If they choose not to, or are convinced that they can’t (And don’t deserve it) then they get mowed down like the rest of the lawn.

Finally, if anyone out there wants to completely end rape, do this: Write a law that allows all women, age unspecified, to carry a gun and provide that gun to them without paperwork, without reason and for free. This will end rape overnight. To deny such a law is to flat-out say that you think rape should still exist.

I know MANY people will have problem with what I’m saying, but I’m prepared - I’ve fought people ratherly loudly in person and I have no problem doing so through text on a screen. If any northeastern “But conservative” wants to meet me face to face and debate, I welcome it wholly and without reservation.
