IIRC, when police run the license plate or the driver’s license they will know if the owner has CCW. Southern drivers stopped in blue states have been interrogated with “OK, where’s the gun?” followed by a vehicle search if no gun is produced.
There is prejudice against Southerners in northern states dating back to the Civil War and the civil rights era. Those empowered to act on their prejudices who have badges & guns are likely to do so. IMHO.
