Except that now that every American knows just exactly where John Roberts’ “pull tab” is anyone can get him to do whatever they want. He really should resign now.

Not necessarily true. The Biden rule applied to Marrick because obama could not be reelected due to term limits. Trump is up for reelection in 2020 so the Biden rule doesn’t apply. A new Justice can be considered and seated for the next 5 years assuming Trump gets a second term.

“Except there is no long game for Ginsberg, any 4-4 split will be short lived.”

Kavanaugh is on record he will defer to precedent.

It will take months for a new justice to be approved by the Senate when Ginsburg steps down. The Kavanaugh battle was just a warmup for what will occur if Trump names a replacement for Ginsburg. In the Murkowski and Collins are doubtful votes for a conservative. Sasse has the potential to go off the reservation. If there is any dirt Schumer can use on any of the RINOS he will to peel off one or two more GOP Senators. Certainly at least 2 or three have sexual or money issues and are vulnerable to extortion.

Trump must simply IGNORE JUDGES.

A 9th circuit ONLY represents San Fran.

The rest of us do not live in San Fran.

Where is a President with guts?

Oh for goodness sake. Time for a government shutdown. The entire Washington establishment needs to get a life. They have way too much free time (& our money) on their hands...

Roberts knows what he is doing. He just never wants to miss a chance at taking a swipe at Trump while parading his supercilious posture for the masses.

When Bill Bennett speaks I know I will hear the absolute common sense truth!!!
A voice of reason in an upside down world!

Victor Davis Hanson is another!

“That would mean a 4 - 4 Supreme Court split, resulting
in no change from that blasted 9th Circuit Court stumbling block of a ruling. Think about it. This is how the Dems play the long game. Justice Roberts could sit in his chamber and silently gloat. Privately thrilled that he has ‘helped’ his liberal pals and Masters once again!”

That’s why we need Ginsberg and Breyer to “move on” before tackling this issue if in point of fact, the SCOTUS has ANY INVOLVEMENT in this process. But as I read the law regarding Judges, the Congress, under the Constitution, has the sole responsibility and power to make and break any and all Federal Courts except the SCOTUS. Therein lies our current problem for the next two years at least. In the meantime, Trump and the Senate can go about replacing any number of judges where deaths and retirements have occurred. I believe that at this moment that number is between one and two hundred. Mc Connell needs to get cracking.

A Judge will spend 2 YEARS litigating a court case.

But if political, they rule overnight.

No California judge can rule for Kansas. They have NO JURISDICTION. Feds merely ignore lower Judges.

“One Free Rep poster said something very perceptive, and more than a little ominous.”

I think several FR posters mentioned the same thing. A case of GMTA, I guess. Roberts could’ve been a bit more subtle so he wouldn’t appear to be the traitor that he is.

It’s anybody’s guess what they’re holding over his head. Could be his daughters’ adoptions. Could be there are compromising photos of threesomes with him, Obama, and Reggie.

Roberts would say, ‘My unfortunate debate with the president on this issue, renders my judgement as appearing ‘compromised’. I therefore, recuse myself from any involvement on this issue now before the Supreme Court.”

... and he could rightfully say this with ANYTHING he has to judge on that relates to the Trump administration - thereby turning himself into Sessions II.

I don’t know why the moon-faced weasel just didn’t keep his stupid mouth shut. All he did is make himself look hopelessly arrogant and stupid, since his fantasy that there are no biased judges is just patently laughable.

Roberts didn’t pick a fight. He was provoked by some slimeball from the Associated Press.

That's a weak excuse. He could have easily avoided giving any comment, but chose to blab.

The theory is Roberts illeglly adopted some kids from Ireland and he wanted to prevent losing them.

I read about that. If he knowingly participated in it, it's a crime. Rather different from being duped or an unwitting participant.
