This poster thinks Judge Roberts is mouthing off now, about the 9th Court so that when the time comes that Trump makes a decision, and the 9th Court tries to swat it down, Judge Roberts can meekly RECUSE HIMSELF from any involvement in overturning that Court decision.
Roberts would say, ‘My unfortunate debate with the president on this issue, renders my judgement as appearing ‘compromised’. I therefore, recuse myself from any involvement on this issue now before the Supreme Court.”
That would mean a 4 - 4 Supreme Court split, resulting
in no change from that blasted 9th Circuit Court stumbling block of a ruling. Think about it. This is how the Dems play the long game. Justice Roberts could sit in his chamber and silently gloat. Privately thrilled that he has ‘helped’ his liberal pals and Masters once again!

Roberts has likely been compromised. Given all the people the Obama regime spied on it’s highly unlikely the Courts were immune. The theory is Roberts illeglly adopted some kids from Ireland and he wanted to prevent losing them. Perhaps some embarrassing sexual stuff as well.
You’re assuming Breyer and Ginsburg will live through President Trump’s terms. Try and find someone in Vegas to give you odds on that.
Roberts did what he did, and meant to do it that way, and it's obvious. I must alas agree, he's setting things up to prevent removal of the Obama scum's anticonstitutional and/or extralegal decrees.
Even on an expedited "fast-track," it likely wouldn't get to The Supremes until next February or March at the earliest. President Trump will replace Ruth Bader-Hindenberg in January.
Our lock on the Supreme Conservative Court will be stronger still than it is even now when this comes up. IMHO.

well that would show how stupid and unworthy of his position Roberts is as a chief justice of SC, to get into a situation where he would have to recuse himself from doing his lifetime appointed job. If he were serious about wanting the job he would not put himself of jeopardy of being able to do it in all cases potentially brought before him.
Except that now that every American knows just exactly where John Roberts’ “pull tab” is anyone can get him to do whatever they want. He really should resign now.

That’s why we need Ginsberg and Breyer to “move on” before tackling this issue if in point of fact, the SCOTUS has ANY INVOLVEMENT in this process. But as I read the law regarding Judges, the Congress, under the Constitution, has the sole responsibility and power to make and break any and all Federal Courts except the SCOTUS. Therein lies our current problem for the next two years at least. In the meantime, Trump and the Senate can go about replacing any number of judges where deaths and retirements have occurred. I believe that at this moment that number is between one and two hundred. Mc Connell needs to get cracking.

I think several FR posters mentioned the same thing. A case of GMTA, I guess. Roberts could’ve been a bit more subtle so he wouldn’t appear to be the traitor that he is.
It’s anybody’s guess what they’re holding over his head. Could be his daughters’ adoptions. Could be there are compromising photos of threesomes with him, Obama, and Reggie.
