Or you might argue, as French President Emmanuel Macron does, that one should prefer the taxation of fuel over the taxation of labor Oh, they have a choice now do they, lol?

The frogs have jumped out of the pot. If the demonstrators turn the police against the elites, who knows where this ends. It could get messy.

Don’t know why the frogs are complaining, they have the government they wanted and deserve. And anyway, who wouldn’t want the climate to be much colder and they only need to allow the government to keep just a little more of what is really the government’s money. Whiners.

climate change does not only have the capacity to destroy the planet in the long term but also to wreck our economy.
The idea that it can wreck our economy is precisely
why it is being pushed. It has yet to be proven to destroy
the planet.

They are not Parisians. It is the people from the countryside who are impacted by this tax. They came to Paris to protest, but they don’t live there.
In any case, their movement has been infiltrated by professional rioters who are always up for a good rumble with the gendarmes.
Climate Change — divisive, Leftwing indoctrination.

And the democrats fear this reaching the news cycle, because they wanted this to strike here in the USA first.

Yep. For heavens sake! Why can’t you understand they need the tax money.
Our state had a “raise the gas tax” initiative on the ballot. The governor was on TV pleading about toxic air due to emissions...BUT we do not actually have toxic air, not much industry, far fewer people than CA,
Actually the gas tax would go toward supporting illegal immigrants flooding the place since he declared it a sanctuary state.
Fortunately, it was resoundingly voted down.

Haha seems like Macron’s words and actions have struck a chord with the French middle class. How’s that for patriotism you little dweeb. Seems like all hailing the greater good of New World Order and dealing with climate change isn’t as important to the French bourgeoisie as one may have thought given the way they voted. Not when it’s their money your taking.
