Former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort lied to the FBI and Special Counsel Robert Mueller's office "on a variety of subject matters" since his plea deal thereby violating the agreement, Mueller said in a court filing submitted Monday night, while adding that Manafort claims he's been truthful.

Trumps prolly happy too he hated Manafort and wanted him fired immediately but was talked out of it.
Mueller has sent innocent people to prison before. Some ended up dying there before their innocence was determined.

What possible reason could there be for Mueller to announce this?

That and $38 million dollars spent on an investigation to nowhere.
Mueller knows if he has to try Manafort, that Manafort can pin the Ukranian grift on the other half of Davis Manafort, Rick Davis,
and the late, not-so-great, Sen. John McCain, a personal friend of Mueller.
Manafort can call Davis to testify, and it's katy-bar-the-door from there. The FannieMae/FreddieMac $2M grift, the Oleg Deripaska (twice!) meeting with McCain, and the Yanukovych $35,000 a month retainer.

I guess this means Manafort is not testifying against Trump.
Manafort must have refused to lie under oath as directed.
I think their innocence was always determined but Mueller (along with other FBI agents) simply kept it covered up because they were getting money from Whitey Bulger.
