Hundreds of troops previously stationed in Texas and Arizona have been moved to California to support border patrol agents securing the border against the thousands of Central American migrants camped nearby.
"In coordination with CBP, it was determined that forces including military police, engineering and logistics units could be shifted from Texas and Arizona to support the CBP requirements in California," US Northern Command told Business Insider, confirming an earlier report from The Washington Post. +
"Approximately 300 service members have been repositioned to California over the past few days."
Last week, there were 2,800 troops in Texas, 1,500 in Arizona, and another 1,500 in California. Over a period of several weeks, the active-duty military personnel deployed to these states ran over 60,000 feet of concertina (razor) wire.
Now, after the recent shift, there are 2,400 troops in Texas, 1,400 in Arizona, and 1,800 in California. The total number of active-duty troops at the border has decreased by about 200, dropping from 5,800 to 5,600, NORTHCOM explained to Business Insider, noting that changes are the result of mission assessments carried out in coordination with CBP.
While the number of troops deployed to the southern border has decreased, the number of troops serving in California is on the rise. Thousands of migrants have been pouring into Tijuana, which is where more than 5,000 migrants, possibly many more, are camped.

It is a laughable ridiculous failure to influence the election, it isn’t hiding anything.
I am a long way from the Tijuana crossing and we have all sorts of BP, and they have assistance. I just came down 100 miles of border a couple days ago and I think things are under control.
Possible... I assumed the caravan was designed for the mid-terms but the timing was off. Millions are being spent on organizers, food, water, shelter, transportation etc... so 'missing the midterms' was intentional. And that points to something? Are Russians moving missiles into Cuba? The Chinese hardening Nicaragua?
What's your best guess?
Rather than repeating your gloom and doom post, why not give us more details as to what this ‘devious’ thing is that you keep talking about?

You aren’t the only one.
From the moment that they announced that Tijuana was the penultimate destination.... The one the farthest away from their starting point, the one with the best wall and the most concentrated border control personnel (and the most media coverage), I was pretty sure that while all the attention was there, quieter and more nefarious stuff would be happening where the border is a falling down cow fence with about one Border Patrol person per 25 miles of patrol area.
It may not be the case, and it may not work if it is the case, but this manufactured border crisis is organized, and really could be timed to coincide with the sedicious Mueller/DNC/GOP-e report and effort to further motivate “impeachment”. The media’s game plan is clearly to portray inhumane treatment of the “poor civilians”, and to provide for maximum holiday coverage for audience.
The Rio Grande sector of the border has been detaining thousands of illegals over the past few weeks.
One detention facility with about 270 beds now has over 2700 detainees.
While everyone is focused on Ysidro, the illegals and drug smugglers are hitting the border at near Yuma and in Texas.

I believe our warfighters are aware of that possibility -only moved several hundred and will not vacate an area to allow easy access.
If you know about this, surely President Trump does too..?? Hopefully, he will have the troops at many places along the border.
