It’s been about three weeks since CNN reporter Jim Acosta repeatedly told President Trump at a news conference that the migrant caravan is “hundreds and hundreds of miles away” and “not an invasion.” Acosta strenuously objected to a Trump ad that showed migrants climbing border walls: “They’re not going to be doing that.”
Now, thousands of migrants from the caravan have arrived in the border city of Tijuana, Mexico. Over the weekend, hundreds of them stormed a border crossing, climbing the fence and throwing rocks. US border agents used tear gas to repel the mob. If the throng was too small to constitute an invasion, it certainly wasn’t a rules-bound group of asylum seekers.
Trump relied too heavily on the caravan as an issue in the midterm election, but the last week has showed that his critics were wrong to sneer.
It was conventional wisdom in the press that the caravan was a concoction of Trump’s fevered imagination. It would soon dissipate and, even if not, take months to reach the US. This widely repeated factoid was based on calculations of its movement on foot (it apparently didn’t occur to the media that the caravan would also travel by bus or truck).

The mob could’ve reached the United States sooner if they’d “sought asylum” at the Texas border rather than going westward across Mexico to arrive at the amnesty friendly courts in California instead.

more dubious shadow. Not to mention
night time temps in Arizona, New Mexico,
and Texas this time of year. These
people are from regions where they
don’t know what cold is. Night time
winter temps are almost exactly those
of Guatemala this time of year, as they
are in San Diego.
Maybe the media wanted to throw the Trump Administration off from the real time the mob would reach our border. They were hoping this misinformation would cause troops not to be in place, reinforced obstructions (including razor wire) to be in place, heightened police forces and increased ICE presence. The mob now has a real logistics nightmare. If they move to another location, the helicopters will detect that and alert forces to move to the next attempt to jump the border. At the same time, food and shelter will not catch up to them. Tijuana temperatures at this time (11:00 PM) are 57 degrees with predictions of a low of 45 degrees. This is not the time of year to be doing stupid stuff.
Would Like Twitter and fb to have vids showing the press claiming that there is no caravan,wont be climbing walls, etc
