I take it that you are a survivalist who welcomes your future robot overlords. ;-)
“It’s free, just like some apps, which gather data on the user.”
I don’t think the value they are deriving is from user data here.
They probably recognize the need to attract developers to their ecosystem in order to remain viable in their competition with other big players like Google, Apple, Facebook, Microsoft, etc.
But it is a much better system than something like Salesforce which offers expensive training and certifications in order to participate in a closed, proprietary ecosystem. I believe Amazon is providing some true value in this case.
Whats in it for Bezos?
Coding is tough. If I had to do all over again so would have started learning to code young.
Now, if I click on one of those links, will Bezos know?
They directly activate the “shut off this guy’s Amazon account.”
I don’t understand the mind of a billionaire, especially a liberal one.
However, getting developers acquainted with Amazon services will give them a competitive advantage to recruit the best talent and stay on the forefront of AI.
AI is probably going to shape our future more than any other technology over the next few decades.
AI will probably shape our future for the rest of the century and beyond. So why am I not learning it?
Thank you.
