I think it’ll be left up to DeSantis, as it should be, in deference to his election. He deserves to get the Broward SOL he wants.

“””fact was that in almost every case their comp far out-stripped the private sector when benefits and pensions were accounted for, for similar jobs.”””

So correct. Take a look at what the US Post Office pays their custodians. Usually in the $50,000 per year range plus benefits.

I agree. She deserves the humiliation of a firing. Then allow DeSantis to fill the vacancy in January.

The Governor only appoints Snipes replacement to only fill the remaining two years of Snipes term.

Broward County will elect a new and improved Vote Counter in 2020.

Given the track record in Broward County, by 2024 we will look back at Snipes and say what great character she had.

Good pay, if you can get it.

She was born in 1943.

She retired from the education system in 2003. She would have been 60. She was appointed by Jeb Bush to complete the term of Supervisor of Elections in Broward County, in 2003. She has been continually re-elected to four year terms.

She is 75 now.

She has had extensive administrative experience in the Broward County educational system.

Yes they are. Especially if you include Socialist Insecurity and Medicare.

We won’t soon forget Lois Lerner for sure.

I don’t ever remember seeing a limit of years on a pension - 15 years for this one?

Decades ago it used to be a trade off, lower salary in exchange for nice govt benefits. Now they are just outright lying about how lavish their total compensation is compared to private sector - both the salary AND bennies - yet they pretend to be martyrs. Public “service” my arse.

If convicted, would she forfeit some of this?

The Governor only appoints Snipes replacement to only fill the
remaining two years of Snipes term.

**********

That is exactly how Snipes got the job. She was appointed by
Jeb Bush to fill the remaining term of another person and she
has been reelected each election since. Now someone will be
appointed to fill out the remaining portion of the term. Then
an election will be held to elect someone for a four year term.
And the beat goes on.

“”But we have to compete with the private sector!””

My gosh - I remember hearing that in the fifties and it didn’t make any sense then either. I don’t know how that ridiculous excuse was ever dreamed up as no one I knew in the private sector made anywhere near as much money as our acquaintances/friends/relatives did working for the state..including myself. Really got tired of hearing it. I thought often of applying for work at the state but when I saw how little effort they put into their jobs and how inefficient they were, I decided it wasn’t for me. I enjoyed my job and took pride in it and you can’t do that working in a government job.

Years ago in the 60’s I had questions for the Sacramento County Tax Assessor (or Collector - forget which) about subdivision tax bills and they did not answer their phones so I left my office and walked over to their office one street over. When I got to their counter, the phones were ringing off the hook and no one was picking up the phones. When someone came to the counter, I asked why no one was answering the phones and the reply was >>I kid you not<<, “If we took time to answer the phones, we wouldn’t be able to wait on customers like you.” That was said with a straight face...

First of all it started with Bush. That family curse on America continues. Then it was the democratic district that elected and re-elected her not hardly everyone in Florida.

Based upon the past actions of Broward County voters, they will elect in 2020 a new Supervisor of Elections who has the following credentials:
1. Is a woman
2. Is a person of color
3. Is LGBT
4. Is Muslim

Anyone who dares criticize that new Supervisor of Elections will be subject to charges of sexism, racism, homophobia, and Islamphobia. All the barriers that will allow Broward County to maintain its corrupt practices.

$71,000 in annual pension benefits after 15 years? The federal system is generous, but it only pays one percent of an employee’s high three times years of service. A fed would have to be making $473,000, which is impossible, to earn that benefit. Florida taxpayers should break out the tar and feathers.
