"Morning Joe" lovebirds Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski wed last Saturday in a private ceremony at the National Archives in Washington, D.C. They apparently pulled some strings to secure the location. Like, just about breaking federal law.
It was the first time a wedding ceremony had been held in that spot since the building opened in 1935. Brzezinski told Vanity Fair that the couple chose the hallowed American location after attending a previous event there, saying, “It makes sense now more than ever, given what we stand for as a couple, what we do for a living, and what we’re worried about as a country.”
Apparently, the couple wasn’t worried about published federal regulations barring “primarily personal, political or fundraising” events within the National Archives. Federal rule 1280.84 specifically says, “... the use of the Rotunda for private events is not permitted.” And rule 1280.76 says that even permitted, official events “are not available during weekends or federal holidays.” The wedding was held at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, after the Archives building was closed to the public. Social media users were not impressed that this was another case of "special treatment for the elites."

Still, Archives Foundation executive director Patrick Madden said the "Morning Joe" couple convinced the Archives to be a little more flexible on its private event policy.
"We were thrilled to be the venue Scarborough and Brzezinski selected for their wedding," Madden said.
In another interesting twist, Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-MD) officiated the ceremony.

C’mon! Everbody knows such laws are just for the little people.
1- It makes sense that liars would violate a basic principle of public trust and use an explicitly exclusive site illegally for their nuptials.
2- As a couple they stand for contempt for patriots.
3- They are paid, professional muckrakers, spewing slander against our president.
4- They do not in any imaginable way speak for the country.
Yes, who the H is Patrick Madden, and who does he think he is to give this a wink and a nod approval? Wanting to get his name in the social columns? So unprofessional.

When Berger got away with multiple federal crimes, and the Archives hierarchy did literally nothing to demand a federal prosecution, I lost a lot of respect for anyone associated with its administration/support.
Now they let two adulterers get married in the Rotunda. What next, Reps. Adam Schiff and Swalwell also going to get married to each other in the same place and have their honeymoon there?
