NEW YORK (AP) — Michael Cohen, President Donald Trump's former lawyer, has pleaded guilty to lying to Congress about work he did on a Trump real estate project in Russia. Cohen made a surprise appearance Thursday in a New York courtroom to enter the plea. He admitted making false statements in 2017 to a Senate intelligence committee about a plan to build a Trump Tower in Moscow. Cohen said he lied about the timing of the tower negotiations and other details to be consistent with Trump's "political message."

Yup. Its purely coincidental Trump happens to be President when this plea came down the pike.

During the campaign when he was on CNN every five minutes he said many times he had was a registered democrat and wondered why all the democrats in the media were working against Trump, when he knew Trump would make a great president. He’s also a backstabber, who has thrown the president under the bus. Scared of Mueller. He’s a rat.

How long will it take to stop Mueller and his tax funded Inquisition? For awhile I thought is was just a bad joke and would be halted but now it just makes me angry. Ruined so many people and it’s our freaking money destroying people( sorry I’ve repeating myself).
Nothing here about collusion... only lying about talks over a real estate deal to Congress.

So there is actual penalties to lying to congress.

Time to pressure Comey, Brennen, McCabe, Balsey fraud, etc for similar.

My take is they had many more damaging crimes against Cohen. This is the one they could cobble together that somehow concerned Russia and the press could spin it the worst against Trump.

As a political matter the fact that he denied having any dealings with Russia will stir some people up.

Mueller is playing games trying to win the PR battle. He is grasping at straws trying to find some Russia connection. No doubt, Trump's mention to the New York Post that he would release the unredacted documents has panicked Mueller and the Dems along with the MSM.
It is also no coincidence that the phony story of Manafort meeting with Assange was dropped a few days ago. It is all part of a disinformation campaign by Deep State and their MSM allies.
Hopefully, Trump releases the documents soon to show the Comey/Mueller Russia collusion investigation is built on a house of cards. It will collapse under scrutiny. It was an attempted coup against the President.
And Trump has nobody to blame but himself for this continuous crap. Not a damn single indictment to counter this after two freakin’ years. Spare me. By the time Trump puts something out only folks in this forum will believe it.

Trump never denied having any dealings with Russia. He held the Miss Universe contest in Moscow. He did say that the deal on building a Trump Tower did not go forward. He has never said there were never any negotiations, which were a matter of public record.
How many times has Hillary been caught lying to Congress and no one has raised so much as an eyebrow?

The proposal would have involved construction of the world’s tallest building in Moscow, according to developers of the project.

Cohen also makes clear that he engaged in communication directly with the Kremlin about the proposal during the 2016 presidential campaign. His statement says he wrote to the press secretary for Russian President Vladimir Putin at the request of Felix Sater, a frequent Trump Organization associate who proposed the Trump Moscow development.
“In mid-January 2016, Mr. Sater suggested that I send an email to Mr. Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary for the president of Russia, since the proposal would require approvals within the Russian government that had not been issued,” Cohen’s statement says. “Those permissions were never provided. I decided to abandon the proposal less than two weeks later for business reasons and do not recall any response to my email nor any other contacts by me with Mr. Peskov or other Russian government officials about the proposal.”
Trump should say if that is “Russian colluision” then he also colluded with the French, Canadians, British, Japanese, Austria, and what used to be Outer Mangolia.... he ran a huge international business ..of course he had dealings with Russia . DUH
