Privacy Violation: A Massachusetts landlord has asked a Harvard University graduate student to move out of her apartment after her roommates pilfered through her belongings and found her legally-owned handguns.

As reported by the Washington Free Beacon, the student, Leyla Pirnie, says that Dave Lewis, president of Avid Management, asked her to move because now her roomies feel “uncomfortable” knowing there are guns about.

“Since it’s clear that Leyla wants to keep her firearms, it would be best for all parties if she finds another place to live,” he told the website in an email.

Ordain and establish....

the Constitution. Just as it says. Then the Bill of Rights, the first ten amendments, were added to the Constitution to preserve God given rights that pre-existed the Constitution.

The second amendment didn’t give you anything you didn’t already have.

Well he was certainly their consigliere and legislative representative. In his later years he had full blown dementia and he had been a big time drunk for decades hence he paid no attention to his estate other than getting a standard monthly payoff from established racketeer’s and a cut from all legal businesses of a certain sort as well as a block of stock from every PLC operating in his district. After he died from being hit by a train while escaping from a sanatorium his lawyers went through a huge hoard of paper and even though three quarters had no value Big Tim’s estate was officially probated at over $1M back in the 1920’s. Crime certainly paid for this vile man.

Many of these stupid fecal deposits are actually terrified of a firearm, period. They go pale and shake at being close to one. For real.

On a somewhat related matter, wasn’t there a saga from Harvard or Cambridge circa 1991 where some people tried to set up a daycare center (or something like that) catering to the poor and all the NIMBY elitists in town blocked their every move?

You're correct.Back in the 90's there was a school whose students were mainly younger black kids that relocated to a neighborhood populated by Harvard's elite. Not long after it opened these elites (including, among others,Laurence Tribe and Julia Child) were campaigning for the school to shut down.

They succeeded...IIRC the school only stayed open (in Cambridge at least) for less than a year.

If you have some spare time google "Commonwealth Day School"...lots of juicy stuff,a lot of it courtesy of the Harvard Crimson.

The landlord should also inform police that they must leave their guns in their cars when investigating anything at this location, so as not to frighten the snowflakes.

Thanks for clarifying. Sounds a lot like NJ, where your local police chief has an inordinate amount of discretion but if you jump through all the hoops you can get a handgun.

If I recall correctly, the typical standard Massachusetts lease form does not say anything about firearms.

Thank you...in fact in think you brought this to my attention a little while ago. I never heard of this episode previously, but this current saga of liberals behaving badly reminded me of Commonwealth.

I don't mean to sound all SJW, but this is a disgusting story. A bunch of while liberal elitists basically shutting down a private elementary school where appx 90% of the student body was minority, because they didn't want "increased traffic" (uh huh..). There is a special place in hell for scum like this.

Actually, I’m with the roommates. They may have no legal standing, but if they made a verbal deal to not have guns, the other roommate should abide. I think I’d be happier living with semi-stranger girls if they were not armed.

I live in LA and practically everyone has guns, lots of them.

This has never been my experience here! Some do, but most do not.

“It was probably in the lease.”

You are correct if there is a restriction in the lease. If the language is not in the lease, the landlord may wish he/she had kept their mouth and the facts of this to themselves.

I suspect this is going to be rather expensive for that landlord if the tenant chooses to act.

Evidently the lease puts the landlord at a disadvantage...hope the gal sues and has the other tenants kicked out...then stays til the end of the lease just to piss the landlord off - after taking a chunk of her money.

after her roommates pilfered through her belongings and found . . .

Would they be more uncomfortable knowing roommates would search through someone else's belongings?

ACLU refuses to defend Second Amendment rights. It’s really a Democrat front organization like the NAACP and ABA and SPLC.

The town of Republic, Washington is voting on making itself a “sanctuary city”. But for 2nd Amendment rights - where ALL regulations, permits, etc. (state and Federal) for firearms will not be followed.

It sounds like a formality anyway. The sheriff said that he and his deputies follow the U.S. Constitution - they are under strict orders not to infringe on anybody’s right to own (or borrow) a firearm.

Washington State a few years ago came up with a stupid rule that doesn’t let you loan somebody a gun. (It was sold as a keep hands out of criminals bill, to make every firearm “transfer” have the required paperwork and $25 fee). But in the 30 pages of the bill, it is spelled out that letting someone else other than your spouse shoot your gun is illegal!

Even against the law to let someone try out your rifle at the range! (Of course nobody enforces it.)

Nothing in there about “transferring” your gun to a gunsmith to work on it either, so they are trying to get that added/clarified. Some gunsmiths don’t take on new work for people they don’t know just in case it is a trap.

“My daughter told her roommate she would use the box provided she be able to give the roommate a short handgun orientation and safety session.”

Darn - I was hoping the rest of the story would be that the roommate would have gone shooting, loved it, and bought her own gun!

My son always takes a new date out to the gun range early on. Most of them have never been around guns, and some have said “guns are scary”. After they shoot a gun ONCE - so far they all have loved it. Literally - after the very first shot!
