Parties win elections by putting forth popular candidates - not kiss ass functionaries.
If the publican party wants to return to nominating Bushes, Romneys, Cruzers, etc. they will be extinct and I will say good riddance.
Since they nominated somebody worth a damn they won.
It is that simple, though senators, governors and people like that will tell you otherwise.
