‘Winnie the Pooh’ ordered to stay away from Chinese president

Winnie the Pooh had to grin and bear it after being banned from central Madrid while Chinese President Xi Jinping drove by, according to a report.

A street performer who dresses up as the honey-hunting bear said cops asked him to stay away as Xi’s motorcade rumbled past Sol Square this week because the Chinese leader could have been offended if he saw the lovable character, The Telegraph reported.

“If it’s offensive, I understand that they would ask me to step aside,” said the man, who was reminded that social media posts in China have compared Xi’s appearance to that of the Disney darling.

Memes comparing Xi with Pooh began in 2013 when the Chinese president met President Obama, who was cast as a bouncy Tigger, another character from A.A. Milne’s book “The House at Pooh Corner.”

Earlier this year, Chinese authorities also denied the release of Disney’s “Christopher Robin,” starring Ewan McGregor and a computer-generated Pooh, who has become a symbol of resistance in the country.

I can’t say I get it, but it’s vaguely amusing. Obama as Tigger, lol? That would be immediately shot down as racist here.

"I think he looks more like Yogi Bear"

I have to agree. Pooh is lovable. Whereas Yogi is annoying as only a Hanna-Barbera character can be.

Tigger has far superior values, compared to Obummer. Tigger is trustworthy, Obummer not at all.

The man who presumes himself the Lord and master of all humanity is afraid of a one hundred year old child’s toy. This is going to look great in the history books.

Can I assume if the Chinese president visits the US there will be no need to secure Disney L.A. or World for a visit like with Nikita Khrushchev?

That bear is the epitome of socialism though.

Lazy, comes up with reasons not to do anything everytime a challenge is presented..

I won’t allow that dreck in my house.
