AIRCRAFT ACTION REPORT - Mission: Radio Station at Chichi Jima - September 2, 1944
Department of the Navy. Office of the Chief of Naval Operations. Intelligence Division. Office of Na ^ | September, 1944 | Lt. Kilpatrick, USNR

Posted on 12/01/2018 9:50:09 AM PST by gandalftb

Unit reporting: VT-51, USS San Jacinto Takeoff Time: 0715, Time Over Target: 0825 - 0830 Aircraft: TBM-1C carrying 4 - 500# General Purpose Bombs Aircraft Lost: TBM-1C, Engine Hit by Heavy and Medium A/A Personnel Casualties: Lt. W.G. White, USNR; J.L. Delaney ARM 2/o, USNR, both MIA, presumed dead The pilot Lt. G.H.W. Bush parachuted to water and was picked up by rescue submarine.

Lt. Bush was piloting the third plane over the target. Bush's plane was hit in the engine shortly after final push over at 8,000 ft. In spite of this hit which caused his engine to smoke and catch on fire, Lt. Bush continued in his dive, releasing his bombs on the radio station at 85.6-50.6 to score damaging hits.

After releasing his bombs, Lt. Bush turned sharply to the east to clear the island of Chichi Jima, smoke and flames enveloping his engine and spreading aft as he did so, and his plane losing altitude. He advised the C.O. by radio that it was necessary to bail out. Bush and one other person were seen to bail out from about 3,000 ft. Bush's chute opened and he landed safely in the water... The chute of the other person (unknown) who bailed out did not open.

Lt. (jg) Bush always wondered and felt badly about the fate of his fellow aircrew.

They are back together now.

It was at that moment that it hit him that the only solution to the world’s ills was a NWO.

And making lots of money with the Sauds.

And banning guns.

And raising taxes.

And inventing the term “voodoo economics”

And giving the cut throat sign when asked about Trump.

We’ve all done good and noble deeds in life.

Those things don’t matter much if they are followed by many terrible deeds.

His life sounds a little like Darth Vader’s.

He may have started off good, but the dark side was just too strong.

What is your problem?

Can we not honor this warrior and patriot for his service?

Go trash some other thread.

No :)

Praising a traitor no matter what he did is still praising a traitor.

People like you won’t wake up and see what he was.

It’s sad.

While you’re at it, post Benedict Arnold’s bravery when he was on our side.

Also, trashing implies lying.

Didn’t lie about anything.

Facts hurt.

And he never felt badly about Kate Steinle or Jamiel Shaw. I see Bush pow-wowed with the kenyan LAST WEEK. Excuse those of us show who Bush the same respect he gave us and our families. Loyalty is a two way street.

And now the man who claimed he couldn’t remember where he was the day JFK was shot is dead. Perhaps one day soon we’ll see who @realDonaldTrump was alluding to in his Octboer 28, 2017 tweets. GHWB was Reagan’s greatest mistake, and he fooled us all. Until Trump smoked them all out.

In Fly Boys, the author James Bradley interviewed President GHW Bush. Bush's crewmen bailed out and were never seen again. Bush said there was not a day that went by that he didn't think about them.

A traitor?

Crawl back under your rock.

The problem with you and many other like you is that you are so blinded by hatred of anything you don’t agree with, that you can’t see the obvious merit that may also there.

Of course I don’t agree with everything Bush did, but obviously the intention of my post was to remind us all of Lt. Bush’s courage and devotion to his mission.

Take your toxic comments to a thread that deals with his poilitical life.

I do not understand all the anti-Bush trolls coming out. Enough! The man served his country well and in many capacities. The rest is tin-foil hat conspiracy theory.

You beat me to it. Arnold was Washington's best general, until he turned traitor.

Pres. Bush One was a WWII vet/hero and for the years he was a Republican party member and president a good and honorable man. He had moderate views and was not a conservative but so were most in the GOP then. He ran the first war in Iraq well but should have let the US forces go all the way to Baghdad to show Saddam he was completely defeated. He built the multi-nation coalition on a promise just to kick Saddam out of Kuwait but he should have let the war go a few more days. His other goof was thinking he had a deal with the Democrats to quietly raise taxes but the Democrats yelled he had broken the “no more taces” promise. That act made him a one-term president.

Kate Steinle died in her father’s arms and was “never seen again.” I’m sure a day doesn’t go by he doesn’t think about her. Show me one eulogy of her for the Bush clan. Show one time in 8 years Bush defending us against Democrat assaults. You can’t. Because they do not care about us.

That may be “politics” to you but for millions of American families open borders politics condoned by the Bush clan became life and death. It’s an appropriate time to reflect on that if we are going to give Bush a hagiographic obituary.

A chilling book and a great read.

I don't agree with some of the things he did and said in later life. But I will respect a US Naval aviator who served his country honorably, flying 58 combat missions who nearly lost his life in the process.

The man just passed. Some folks should show a bit more decorum IMO.

Blaming President Bush for Katie Steinle's murder is a bit of a stretch. There were Clinton, and Bush, and Obozo in line for that.

Not at all. Bush voted for Hillary and allowed the kenyan to use him in Obama’s efforts to split the GOP ahead of 2018 and 2020. A vote for Hillary is a vote for Democrat sanctuary cities. Sanctuary cities = murdered, raped and robbed Americans. Sorry but it is what it is.
