The top admiral overseeing US Naval forces in the Middle East, Vice Adm. Scott Stearney, was found dead in his residence in Bahrain on Saturday, the Navy said in a statement.
While his death is being investigated, officials say there is no evidence of foul play at this time.
"This is devastating news for the Stearney family, for the team at Fifth Fleet, and for the entire Navy," Adm. John Richardson, the chief of naval operations, told CNN Saturday. "Adm. Stearney was a decorated professional and a devoted father, a devoted husband and a good friend."

Oh, c’mon, the man looks as healthy as a horse! What do they mean, no evidence of foul play? He’s an enemy of Iran, an enemy of ISIS, an enemy of terror, living in the middle east, healthy as a horse, and he suddenly drops dead? AND THAT’S NOT SUSPICIOUS??? Some Obama holdover needs firing and his a$$ kicked RIGHT NOW!

Did he die in bed in his sleep, or just in bed? There’s a subtle but important difference.
If he was murdered, it was great timing to do it, just hours after the death of George H.W. Bush, and just before Georgia takes down Alabama, and with the president in South america. This will be quickly forgotten.
Makes a difference if he was discovered exsanguinated.

You may joke but I'll tell you what, I don't trust ANYTHING anymore..... My pop told me 60 years ago, "Don't trust anything you read and only half of what you see with your own eyes... And I think that holds truer today then ever before....
