WHAT I'VE LEARNED FROM LIFE

"I've learned that although it's hard to admit, I'm secretly glad by parents are strict with me." (Age 14)

"I've learned that silent company is often more healing than words of advice." (Age 24)

"I've learned that the greater a person's sense of guilt, the greater the need to cast blame on others." (Age 16)

"I've learned that regardless of your relationship with your parents, you miss them terribly after they die." (Age 53)

"I've learned that making a living is not the same as making a life." (Age 58)

"I've learned that if you pursue happiness, it will elude you. But if you focus on your family, the needs of others, your work, meeting new people, and doing the very best you can, happiness will find you."

"I've learned that whenever I decide something with kindness, I usually make the right decision." (Age 66)

"I've learned that when I have pains, I don't have to be one." (Age 82)

"I've learned that I still have a lot to learn." (Age 92)

Good evening, mountainlion, and a Blessed Lord's Day to you and yours.

Age is not the problem it is the side effects.

I love this and it is so true. My side effects are the problem. d:o)

Good evening, Pro...a Blessed Lord’s Day to you and yours.

Clean up is in progress...slowly. I got some sleep, in the living room, and am working my way into my bed, which is covered in books, CDs, and various and sundry things that came off shelves.

FIRST SUNDAY IN ADVENT
2 December 2018

"O Come, O Come, Emmanuel!

This is the Arabic character "nun" ~ the first letter of the word "Nazarene." I post it as my avatar in solidarity with people of all faiths suffering persecution at the hands of Islam. Many of them are members of the oldest of our Christian Communities, dating from the days of the Apostles. They endure cruel, merciless and unrelenting persecution. They are Orthodox and Catholic, Protestant and Evangelical, Coptic, Pentecostal, and Baptist. To the persecutors they, and we, are all "Nazarenes."

"TAKE UP THY CROSS
AND FOLLOW ME"

"I Vow To Thee My Country"
Choir Of King's College, Cambridge

"I VOW TO THEE, my country, all earthly things above,
Entire and whole and perfect, the service of my love;
The love that asks no question, the love that stands the test,
That lays upon the altar the dearest and the best;
The love that never falters, the love that pays the price,
The love that makes undaunted the final sacrifice.

And there's another country, I've heard of long ago,
Most dear to them that love her, most great to them that know;
We may not count her armies, we may not see her King;
Her fortress is a faithful heart, her pride is suffering;
And soul by soul and silently her shining bounds increase,
And her ways are ways of gentleness, and all her paths are peace."

Amazing Grace
(Click)

By John Newton

Amazing grace! How sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me!
I once was lost, but now am found;
Was blind, but now I see.

'Twas grace that taught my heart to fear,
And grace my fears relieved;
How precious did that grace appear
The hour I first believed!

Through many dangers, toils and snares,
I have already come;
’Tis grace hath brought me safe thus far,
And grace will lead me home.

The Lord has promised good to me,
His Word my hope secures;
He will my Shield and Portion be,
As long as life endures.

Yea, when this flesh and heart shall fail,
And mortal life shall cease,
I shall possess, within the veil,
A life of joy and peace.

The earth shall soon dissolve like snow,
The sun forbear to shine;
But God, Who called me here below,
Will be forever mine.

When we’ve been there ten thousand years,
Bright shining as the sun,
We’ve no less days to sing God’s praise
Than when we’d first begun.

There are only 24 hours in a day, and yours are all spoken for.

Biggest and longest quake I've been in.

Looking into my room...I'm sleeping in the lounger in the living room until I can get to my bed.

All the drawers and door were open. But my room is the worst "damage".

Howdy, Kathy.

I hope your nerves have settled down a bit. Yesterday was mighty harrowing. Slow but steady progress with clean-up today?

He Who blessed our forefathers Abraham, Isaac and Jacob - may He bless the fighters of the Israel Defense Force, who stand guard over our land and the cities of our G-d from the border of the Lebanon to the desert of Egypt, and from the Great Sea unto the approach of the Aravah, on the land, in the air, and on the sea.

May HASHEM cause the enemies who rise up against us to be struck down before them. May the Holy One, Blessed is He, preserve and rescue our fighting men from every trouble and distress and from every plague and illness, and may He send blessing and success in their every endeavor.

May He lead our enemies under their sway and may He grant them salvation and crown them with victory. And may there be fulfilled for them the verse: For it is Hashem, your G-d, Who goes with you to battle your enemies for you to save you.

G-d bless and keep your children safe, Alouette.

Howdy, PRO!

How’s your weekend been so far?

Wet and windy here but it’s warmed up considerably the last hour or so since thunderstorms rumbled through.

Only one other thing fell during all the aftershocks and it was nothing important.
