In death, Bush becomes a yardstick for President Trump [tr]
Washington Post ^ | December 3, 2018 | Greg Jaffe

The tributes to former president George H.W. Bush poured in this weekend, each in their own way exposing the pitfalls ahead this week for the Oval Office’s current resident.

The 41st president was remembered by Barack Obama, the 44th, as “a humble servant.” “Honorable, gracious and decent” were the words Bill Clinton used in praise of his immediate predecessor. House Speaker Paul D. Ryan’s encomium described Bush as “great in his character, leading with decency and integrity.”

Greg Jaffe and the Amazon Post just cannot write an article without kicking dirt on President Trump.

As you watch the media coverage of GHW Bush’s funeral, remember during his reelection bid the media portrayed him as too stupid to checkout at a grocery store.

I remember when Bush Sr. was literally Hitler. It was just after Reagan was literally Hitler and before McCain was literally Hitler and Romney was literally Hitler. Then Bush Jr became literally Hitler.

It is really laughable to watch these stooges spin. Just like with McLame, when it mattered these two were evil incarnate. When they’re dead they are used as props to attack Trump.

Globalist Uniparty wanted NAFTA, Perot did not

Perot did fine as a non politician. And he was right about many things ... that giant sucking sound comes to mind.

Not sure why you can’t see the irony of your tagline vs your post. Stubborn would be my guess. Or some belief that you know what Perot really wanted.

And “Thousand points of light”, “New World Order”, “Read My Lips” and voting for Hillary Bush was a globalist at heart. Perot, and later Trump, were / are anything but.

Not a fan of Clinton at all, but it’s a toss up as to whether he was worse than a 2nd Bush term.

Just another republican who had to die for the left to finally approve of him.

WAPO’s favorite target were George HW, and George W, because the MSM crapped all over them and they NEVER fought back. Trump is the real deal, stands up for America and fight back. MAGA!

This is what the canonization of Bush was all about in the first place.

Watch the funeral. They will plant speakers there to try and insult Trump and run this mantra over and over again.

And in the end, Bush does not measure up. He is dwarfed beside Trump. Bush was feckless and fundamentally anti-American. Trump is puissant, loves America, and is fundamentally determined to make the American Dream live and endure. Furthermore, Trump towers over Bush in intelligence.

Why is GHW Bush NOT a yardstick for Obama and Clinton? Here I refer to their total lack of decorum and respect for the office of President once out of office.

I clearly remember how the Democrats trashed George HW Bush in the 92 election. He was characterized as an out of touch, wealthy white man who reneged on raising taxes. I even seen where they are now claiming it was Bush who did the “right thing” by going into Kuwait and by doing so, exorcised the demons of Vietnam. That’s funny, the Democrats were crying “no blood for oil” during Desert Shield.

Just like they trashed McCain during the 08 and now revere him, they are doing the same with Bush.

Old “read my lips, no new taxes” is a yeardstick for Trump?
Good grief, journalists are indeed as stupid as I imagined.
Bush (all of them) DEFINED the swamp.

I do believe they were decent men and actually had true accomplishments, unlike Bubba, the Beast, and Dorkbama the Muslim eunuch quota boy.

I wish people would stop parroting this nonsense about how Democrats in Congress reneged on a deal with GHWB. The guy spent years working in the CIA. His whole mission in life revolved around deception and misinformation, and he knew better than to take anyone's word in Washington.

He didn't sign that tax hike in exchange for future spending cuts that never materialized. He signed that tax hike because he wanted a tax hike, period.

I met the man in 1992, and thanked him for his WWII & CIA service.
We exchanged pleasantries for a moment and it's a noteworthy memory today.

However, In death, Bush becomes a yardstick for President Trump  monument to his own naivete & irresolution.

President Trump's 'yardstick' is on an entirely higher plane, with the likes of Reagan & Washington.

Exactly. However nice of a guy Bush was—whether as a human being or help-mate to the Left, that’s not how he was treated by them at the time.

The only thing that Perot 'paved the way for' was the execrable stench and national embarrassment of the ignominious Clintons.

Despise Hitlery's continuing presence in the news ?
Thank Ross.
