Doesn't this go against the idea of Manafort being in cahoots with Assange? Manafort tried to get Assange handed over to the US.

Ridiculous. Manafort was canned from Trump campaign in summer of 2016, and was already under Mueller’s thumb in May 29017. Who in “Washington” would have engaged him?

I think Manafort also tried to leap tall buildings in a single bound...

Paul kind of lumbers when he walks. You can see him coming from a mile away.

The World apparently values itinerant, independent, entrepreneurial, forward thinking fixers.

Is this Libel ? Times has been known to do this. The New York Times offers no source or verification this conversation which has serious legal implications occurred. Because it doesn’t could have been presented as speculation which should have been phrased as a question; Did Manafort etc etc etc. Instead this is being presented as fact.

If anything, Manafort would have tried to find a way where Assange could tell the world that he didn't get the DNC/Podesta stuff from Russians, and that the Trump campaign had nothing to do with it.

But, the Deep State wants to nail Assange.... threaten him with life in prison unless he lies and says he conspired with Trump and Russia to steal the election from Hillary.

That's pretty much where the standoff remains today. The Deep State will grab him if they can, and force him to turn on Trump to save his own skin. The State Department (the part run by the Deep State) has for the past several years been putting pressure on Ecuador to try and squeeze Assange. So far it hasn't worked, but I don't know how much longer Assange can hold out.

Paul Manafort, the embattled former campaign chief of President Donald Trump, attempted to broker a deal between Washington and the government of Ecuador over Wikileaks founder Julian Assange, the New York Times reported.

I stopped there. I'll wait until a credible news source reports this before believing it.
