A Detroit parishioner walking out of a mass Sunday made a startling discovery a human skull lying inside one of the churchs flowerpots.
The Wayne County Medical Examiner's Office was working Tuesday to identify the remains found at the Greater Marion Chapel. The skull which is missing its jaw was discovered resting on top of the potted soil just outside the churchs front doors.
Police said the skull has no clear identifying clues.
"They thought it was like a Halloween [decoration], something that was left over that someone might have placed there," Rev. Joseph Blankenship told Fox2Detroit. "Not a real-life skull."

Memento mori
Hillary’s Spirit Cooking pals perhaps.
Still not afraid of the west side.
Just saw this on local Fox2 news!
Wife and I started laughing.
At least it wasn’t a child getting shot in the head, which happens at least once a month.
Is it an invisible skull?
Hmm , Rear Window (1954)
Call it a relic, maybe there’s some magic in it. /s
Time to break out my “Detroit: Where the Weak Are
Killed and Eaten” t-shirt...
Lol! I guess they removed it before the photo was taken. I wasn’t sure either if it might still be there buried in the soil.
Maybe it’s Jimmy Hoffa
Then they tore up that ball field fer nuthin.
Years ago the University of Pittsburgh rugby squad got booted from their league and suspended because they had stolen a human skull from the pathology lab and used it in warmups instead of a ball to psych-out the other team.
I was at a family cemetery outside Knoxville and I saw this thing that looked like an old skull sitting on top of some moss. We poked at it and it turned out to be a puffball mushroom. Sorta made us queasy.
It's not the west side you have to be afraid of. That skull was placed there as a warning by an eastsider........
skullduggery
Alas, poor Yorick! I knew him, Horatio...
That was probably from all the spores you inhaled.
